Let’s review: liberal Congressman Anthony Weiner can send pornographic photos of himself and not lose his Twitter privileges. But conservative group EmpowerTexans gets their feed shut down (along with the personal accounts of all their staff) for no discernable reason? I wonder if the folks at Twitter got their little bird logo embroidered on those new brown shirts of theirs. via RedState: I have long considered Empower Texans to be the most important and effective state level conservative grassroots organization in the country. These people are not just respected in Texas; they are feared. It is an awesome thing to behold. Michael Quinn Sullivan and company do excellent work educating Texans on the men who go to Austin claiming to...

Gang of Six: The Worst Plan So Far

Once again, the Dems hold the ball for Republicans to kick

To quote Lando Calrissian, “This deal is getting worse all the time!” Via NRO: Only ten days ago, Republicans appeared to regain their footing when House Speaker John Boehner torpedoed the disastrous “grand bargain” that President Obama was offering. That deal would have forced Republicans to accept a massive $1 trillion tax hike and left Obamacare in place. In return, the president offered more centrally planned cuts in Medicare and Medicaid and other minor entitlement adjustments. Some deal. But now, along comes the Gang of Six plan, and some Republicans are apparently intrigued by it. They shouldn’t be. It’s a terrible, terrible plan. It will hand the president a huge strategic victory and deliver nothing that the GOP should be seeking in...

Buyer’s remorse: CEO Steve Wynn says Obama bad for business

Wynn bashes Obama, says he bad for business

It’s not just Republicans and the Tea Party who have a problem with Dear Leader’s Marxist proclivities. Steve Wynn, Chairman and CEO of Wynn Resorts, used a portion of his quarterly earnings conference call to issue some sharp criticism against President Obama and his economic policies. But don’t expect to hear much about this in the media, because Wynn is a Democrat who supported Obama in 2008 and now is experiencing some self-inflicted wounds from putting a socialist in the White House. “I believe in Las Vegas. I think its best days are ahead of it. But I’m afraid to do anything in the current political environment in the United States. You watch television and see...

In response to The Agenda Project’s ludicrous agitprop, “America the Beautiful,” which showed a supposed Republican throwing grandma off a cliff, CBN has produced a parody ad which shows Big Gov trying to do the same to Uncle Sam.  (h/t: Breitbart)

Obligatory response to “PSA for Teabaggers”

PSA for Teabaggers

There’s a video which is making the rounds on Facebook and Google+, posted by Leftists who can’t stand Americans who identify with the Tea Party movement. In it, two young people interrupt their vacation because they’re on a (gasp) public beach. Instead of colluding with Socialism, these two people decide instead to vacation in sunny Somalia. An announcer then goes on to establish Somalia as a Libertarian Paradise, and goes on to equate the African nation’s poverty and rampant violence as the ideal of the Conservative movement and the polar opposite to nanny-state big government. The YouTube description on this little hate-fest reads:  “You should be forcibly moved to Somalia to live in your libertarian utopia.” This video —...

Dear Leader says, “Peas for thee, but not for me.” The White House on Monday warned President Obama will veto GOP legislation to “Cut, Cap and Balance” spending and the budget. In a statement of administration policy, the White House Office of Management and Budget labeled the GOP bill as an “empty political statement.” The House Rules Committee is expected to take up the measure on Monday, and it is likely to receive a floor vote on Tuesday. The measure would cut spending in Fiscal Year 2012 by $111 billion, cap future spending at 19.9 percent of gross domestic product and would allow for the debt ceiling to be increased if a balanced budget amendment is approved by Congress...

Obama recycles Jimmy Carter’s “Malaise” speech

Malaise 2.0

Welcome back, Carter! Last week, Laura Ingraham released a video which juxtaposed Jimmy Carter’s infamous “Malaise Speech” (originally known as his “Crisis of Confidence Speech”) with President Obama’s latest rhetoric. The similarities are disturbing. This clip needs to be heard by every American, especially those of us old enough to remember the inadequacies of the Carter presidency. Via The Blaze‘s Christopher Santarelli: One a peanut farmer from Georgia, the other a Hawaiian Harvard law grad, before entering politics President Obama and former President Jimmy Carter came from extremely different backgrounds. That said, an increasing number of commentators and political opponents have made the comparison between Obama and Carter administrations. Friday marked the 32-year-anniversary of Jimmy Carter’s “crisis of confidence” later pegged “malaise speech,”...

“The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.” ~Ronald Reagan, October 27, 1964 As Dear Leader continues his efforts to bluff Republicans into issuing him a blank check for more tax and spend insanity, he let loose with this little bit of demagoguery: President Obama on Friday kept up the pressure on Republicans to agree to revenue increases in a deal to raise the debt ceiling, claiming 80 percent of the public supports Democrats’ demand for tax increases. “The American people are sold,” Obama said. “The problem is members of Congress are dug in ideologically.” [Yeah, and President “I will not yield” Obama isn't dug in ideologically....
