VIDEO: Bill Whittle on race-baiting and “The Working Class”

Newt_South_Carolina_debate

Excellent takedown of Juan Williams’ race-baiting by Bill Whittle. In this week’s Afterburner, Bill Whittle takes on the liberal agenda by addressing the underlying assumptions of Juan Williams when he asked Newt Gingrich this question: “You recently said black Americans should demand jobs, not food stamps. You also said poor kids lack a strong work ethic and proposed having them work as janitors in their schools. Can’t you see that this is viewed, at a minimum, as insulting to all Americans, but particularly to black Americans?” This is why I wish Cain could have survived the rumors that dogged his campaign; when common-sense conservative ideas are espoused by black Conservatives, Liberals can’t play the race card and must debate...

Columnist Gene Rector summed up Cain’s rousing 30-minute speech: Speaking without notes or a teleprompter, Cain said the Obama administration has assaulted the fundamental American rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness guaranteed in the nation’s Declaration of Independence. Referencing the historic document again, he said the founding fathers got it right… “The American dream is under attack – runaway debt, stagnant economy, and an administration that forces legislation down our throats,” Cain pointed out. He said America had become a nation of crises – moral, economic, entitlement, spending, immigration and national security. “Worst of all, we have a leadership crisis in the White House,” he related to the applauding, vocal, largely standing state GOP contingent. “Real...

Meet Herman Cain

Herman Cain a.k.a. “The Hermanator”

After watching Herman Cain “win” the GOP debate in South Carolina last week, I’ve been doing a little research into the Republican Party’s newest up-and-comer. The Atlantic has published an excellent bio which highlights Mr. Cain’s first foray into politics — a 1994 smackdown of Bill Clinton’s healthcare plan: His entrance into national politics was a fluke—albeit, if he runs, an enormously beneficial one. In 1994, Cain, then still CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, participated in a town-hall meeting that Bill Clinton held to drum up support for his flagging health-care plan. He challenged the president’s claim that restaurateurs would bear only a marginal new cost. Clinton objected, but Cain wouldn’t relent. “I’d had my financial people run the numbers,”...

VIDEO: Paul Ryan’s “Path to Prosperity” budget plan

This 3-minute video is a visualization of the House Republicans’ budget, “The Path to Prosperity,” presented by Rep. Paul Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee. I think it’s a great start! It’s certainly a far cry from the “spend every penny and then some” Democrat Party. For more details, check out http://budget.house.gov/fy2012budget/ ECONOMIC GROWTH AND JOB CREATION: Fosters a better environment for private-sector job creation by lifting debt-fueled uncertainty and advancing pro-growth tax reforms. SPENDING CUTS AND CONTROLS: Stops Washington from spending money it does not have on government programs that do not work. Locks in spending cuts with spending controls. REAL SECURITY: Fulfills the mission of health and retirement security for all Americans by making the tough...

The GOP Path To Prosperity cuts $6.2 trillion in spending over 10 years

Posted 05 Apr 2011 in conservatism, economy, Republicans, responsibility

This is what happens when the adults finally take the fiscal reigns from the spendthrift Democrats. The president’s recent budget proposal would accelerate America’s descent into a debt crisis. It doubles debt held by the public by the end of his first term and triples it by 2021. It imposes $1.5 trillion in new taxes, with spending that never falls below 23% of the economy. His budget permanently enlarges the size of government. It offers no reforms to save government health and retirement programs, and no leadership. Our budget, which we call The Path to Prosperity, is very different. For starters, it cuts $6.2 trillion in spending from the president’s budget over the next 10 years, reduces the debt...

Allen West’s keynote speech at CPAC 2011

Posted 13 Feb 2011 in Allen West, conservatism, patriotism

At CPAC this weekend, Lt. Colonel (RET) Allen West gave the keynote address. He outlined three “pillars of conservatism” that will lead to what he called the “new dawn of a new America”: 1) effective and efficient principles of constitutional government, 2) peace through vigilance, resolve, and strength, and 3) a commitment to stay true to American values. (h/t: The Right Scoop) Via Political Ticker: The Tea Party favorite affirmed that he took an oath “to be a guardian for the conservative principles that make America the greatest nation that the world has ever known,” and denounced “liberal progressivism” that “has repeatedly failed all over the world.” The more I hear from LtCol West, the more I like him....

Coming to a theater near you on April 15th. “The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles.” Are you listening, President Obama?

"A Time for Choosing" by Ronald Reagan

Posted 06 Feb 2011 in conservatism, Republicans, Ronald Reagan

In her tribute to Ronaldus Magnus yesterday, Sarah Palin referred to Reagan’s “Time for Choosing” speech. It was a televised campaign address for the Goldwater Presidential Campaign, but it’s just as relevant today as it was when The Gipper delivered these words back in 1964. Thank you very much. Thank you and good evening. The sponsor has been identified, but unlike most television programs, the performer hasn’t been provided with a script. As a matter of fact, I have been permitted to choose my own ideas regarding the choice that we face in the next few weeks. I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit to follow another course. I believe that...
