WikiLeaks docs confirm WMDs in Iraq

Posted 08 Dec 2010 in George W. Bush, Iraq, media bias, WMDs

Julian Assange’s dump of classified documents has revealed that a WMD program existed in Iraq prior to the U.S. invasion and many of the WMDs were transferred to Syria in the buildup before the war. I certainly do not approve of Assange’s actions, but I find it just as appalling that the lamestream media is completely ignoring this information because it proves them wrong and vindicates President Bush. (h/t: The Political Jungle) The release by Julian Assange’s web site Wikileaks of classified documents reveals that U.S. military intelligence discovered chemical weapons labs, encountered insurgents who were specialists in the creation of toxins, and uncovered weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. However, Washington, DC officials and the news media have...

Sadly obligatory "Iraqi journalist throws shoe at Bush" post

In case you didn’t see it this weekend, here’s the clip of an Iraqi reporter doing what the unhinged American left wish they could. An Iraqi journalist hurled his shoes and an insult at George W. Bush, without hitting him, as the US president was shaking hands with the Iraqi premier at his Baghdad office on Sunday. As the two leaders met in Nuri al-Maliki’s private office, a journalist sitting in the third row jumped up, shouting: “It is the farewell kiss, you dog,” and threw his shoes one after the other towards Bush. Maliki made a protective gesture towards the US president, who ducked and was not hit. The journalist, Muntazer al-Zaidi from Al-Baghdadia channel which broadcasts from...

Obama undercuts troop withdrawal from Iraq?

Obama claims he wants U.S. troops out of Iraq. But according to this story in the New York Post, his hubris has other plans. (h/t: Ace of Spades HQ) While campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence. According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July. “He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in...

Victory in Iraq is almost official!

I saw this little tidbit today and was surprised it’s not getting more play. It looks like we will soon be able to declare “mission accomplished,” not for just removing Saddam Hussein and his regime, but for helping Iraq establish a new era of self-governance. Our military has done a fantastic job and after six years it’s almost time to bring them home! BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Iraqi Prime Minister Prime Nuri al-Maliki said on Monday that an agreement had been reached in negotiations on a security pact with the United States to end any foreign military presence in Iraq by the end of 2011. “There is an agreement actually reached, reached between the two parties on a fixed date...

Pickens: We are paying for both sides of the Iraqi war

Posted 23 Jul 2008 in Iraq, oil and gas, war

There’s a little bit of scaremongering in Pickens’ testimony, but with gas prices doubling over the past two years, he might not be too far from wrong. As to the $700 billion per year that we’re hemorrhaging, it’s time to staunch the flow. WASHINGTON — In T. Boone Pickens’ war on terror, the enemy is foreign oil. Pickens, the Republican Texas oil mogul, testified Tuesday before a Senate panel to lay out his new, self-titled “Pickens Plan” to boost renewable energy sources, get the U.S. transportation sector off oil and cut U.S. use of foreign petroleum. Pickens told the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee that aside from getting away from foreign oil, he’s for just about anything,...

Obama reverses himself on Iraq

Posted 09 Jul 2008 in 2008 election, Barack Obama, Iraq, war

This is what happens when someone with only 143 days of experience in the Senate thinks he’s ready to be Commander-In-Chief. American Thinker and Weekly Standard both have some good articles detailing Obama’s ignorance and naivete related to matters of state.

Time to get out of Iraq?

Not because some smelly protesters demand it nor because some childish politicians demagogue it, but because the al-Malaki has declared victory over the terrorists and is now asking us to leave. Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki raised the prospect on Monday of setting a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops as part of negotiations over a new security agreement with Washington. It was the first time the U.S.-backed Shi’ite-led government has floated the idea of a timetable for the removal of American forces from Iraq. The Bush administration has always opposed such a move, saying it would give militant groups an advantage. The security deal under negotiation will replace a U.N. mandate for the presence of U.S. troops...

Crush Liberalism points out more “consistency” from the Obamessiah, this time on genocide in Iraq.

Religion of Peace update: Basra militias commit atrocities for Allah

Somebody alert John Murtha and John Kerry, it’s not our soldiers who are terrorizing civilians in Iraq… CNN – The man, blindfolded and handcuffed, crouches in the corner of the detention center while an Iraqi soldier grills him about rampant crimes being carried out by gangs in the southern city of Basra. “How many girls did you kill and rape?” the soldier asks. “I raped one, sir,” the man responds. “What was her name?” “Ahlam,” he says. Ahlam was a university student in the predominantly Shiite city of Basra. The detainee said the gang he was in kidnapped her as she was leaving the university, heading home. “They forced me, and I killed her with a machine gun, sir,”...

US-Israeli Report Shows Saddam Transferred WMDs to Syria

Posted 11 Apr 2008 in Iraq, liberals, media bias, war, WMDs

I know I’m jumping the gun on this a bit, as it remains to be seen exactly what type of WMDs were secreted in Syria. But the fact remains. He DID have them. He DID hide them. Told. You. So. The Jerusalem Post – An upcoming joint US-Israel report on the September 6 IAF strike on a Syrian facility will claim that former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein transferred weapons of mass destruction to the country, Channel 2 stated Monday. Good thing I’m not expecting to see liberals and the mainstream media admit their “no WMDs” mantra is an utter falsehood. But it makes me smile to see them proven wrong. Yet again.
