Is Obama becoming another Khrushchev?

khrushev

On November 18, 1956, at the height of the Cold War, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev famously said, “We will bury you!” while addressing Western ambassadors at the Polish embassy in Moscow. He was certain that the Soviet Union’s system of Communism was just and fair, and he believed firmly that every other nation would eventually become communist. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Khrushchev and the USSR have been resigned to the dustbin of history following the absolute collapse of the corrupt Soviet system of Marxism. But while the Soviets were in power, they did everything possible to undermine the United States of America. Their fundamental goal was to destroy Capitalism and replace it with the Soviet style of Communism. And Americans were united...

Roundup on Obama’s 2012 State of the Union address

State-of-the-Union-2012

Mark Twain famously remarked there are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics. It’s too bad Twain didn’t live to hear an Obama “State of the Union” speech, he would have said that there are actually four kind of lies. In an attempt to lure back disillusioned Democrats who are frustrated by Obama’s apparent failures in office, last night’s speech offered a distraction loaded with the Democrat Party’s tried-and-true class warfare and agitprop. It was as though Obama was channeling Groucho Marx: “Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?”  His performance in the well of the House of Representatives was just a long, drawn-out way of saying, “Don’t look at my record of failure and the steady...

VIDEO: 1,000 Days Without A Budget

1000_days

Today marks the 1,000th day since the United States Senate has passed a budget. While the House has put forth (and passed) its own budget, the Senate has failed to do the same. To help illustrate how extraordinary this failure has been, Heritage.org’s new video highlights a few of impressive feats in history that have been accomplished in less time. — RELATED: “Facts on the Senate’s Failure” Tuesday, January 24, will mark the 1,000th day since the U.S. Senate has passed a budget—an egregious dereliction of duty on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D–NV) watch. By enacting continuing resolution upon continuing resolution (short-term measures to keep the government running, spending money at the current rate), the Senate has taken a pass on leading,...

Obama’s 2012 State of the Union will map out election-year “energy agenda”

obama-middle-finger

This year’s State of the Union circus sounds like it’ll be a spirited defense of the Obama status quo: more unemployment, more dependence on foreign oil, and billions more wasted on “green energy” boondoggles for Obama donors like Solyndra. Via The Hill: President Obama will unveil his election-year energy agenda Tuesday night in his State of the Union address. In a video message sent to supporters Saturday, Obama said the speech will lay out an economic platform that includes “American energy, fueled by homegrown and alternative energy sources.” Obama is also likely to tout achievements such as the increase in auto mileage standards and federal support for clean energy projects as he makes his case for reelection. The real mystery is...

VIDEO: Bill Whittle on race-baiting and “The Working Class”

Newt_South_Carolina_debate

Excellent takedown of Juan Williams’ race-baiting by Bill Whittle. In this week’s Afterburner, Bill Whittle takes on the liberal agenda by addressing the underlying assumptions of Juan Williams when he asked Newt Gingrich this question: “You recently said black Americans should demand jobs, not food stamps. You also said poor kids lack a strong work ethic and proposed having them work as janitors in their schools. Can’t you see that this is viewed, at a minimum, as insulting to all Americans, but particularly to black Americans?” This is why I wish Cain could have survived the rumors that dogged his campaign; when common-sense conservative ideas are espoused by black Conservatives, Liberals can’t play the race card and must debate...

VIDEO: Gingrich nukes CNN’s John King

JohnKing_newtered

Although I don’t necessarily agree with the “Gingrich Wins The GOP Debate In The First Five Minutes” title of this video, I do think Newt handled the situation admirably. As the dinosaur media attempted to repeat their latest yellow journalism narrative, Gingrich bashed CNN’s John King for opening the debate with a question about the salacious “open marriage” accusation from Newt’s ex-wife. Instead of keeping a presidential debate focused on the issues facing our nation and the candidates’ stance on each, CNN chose to lead with rumor and innuendo surrounding an old scandal that Gingrich has already explained and apologized for. I think Newt was right to call them on it. (via The Blaze) Asked if he wanted to respond...

Pic of the Day: Obama in Fantasyland

I could say something about big ears and Goofy, but this just writes itself. Via Mediaite: For those of us not typically in the public eye, it is easy to forget the importance of good optics and public relations for someone who is. For those who routinely forget, however, there arises, once in a while, a perfect reminder of why they exist in the form of a delightfully bad PR move by someone who really cannot afford it at the moment. Today’s PR miss comes from the Obama campaign, whose candidate is shutting down “Main Street USA” to give a speech — the “neighborhood” Main Street USA in Disney World, that is. The substance of this story is not particularly...

Stop SOPA/PIPA (govt censorship of the internet)

Stop the government's censorship of the internet

***UPDATED: Scroll down for more… SOPA isn’t dead yet.*** The federal government’s solution to a problem is usually worse than the problem itself. Many sites are “going dark” today to protest the heavy-handed power grab called SOPA; the “Stop Online Piracy Act.” The proposed legislation would allow the U.S. Justice Department to block sites which are suspected of posting pirated material. This is what countries like China and Iran do to websites which post things their government doesn’t like. Just to clarify, SOPA is the legislation making its way through the House of Representatives, PIPA (the “Protect Intellectual Property Act”) is the Senate version. BOTH MUST BE STOPPED. There will be a vote on PIPA next Wednesday. SOPA has been...

Allen West: “Mr. President, please don’t play the race card in 2012…”

Congressman Allen West (R-FL) engages in a little wishful thinking on the occasion of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Just two years after my birth, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. momentously described his dream that one day his children would “live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but the content of their character.” How proud he would have been on that November Tuesday in 2008 when Barack Obama was elected the 44th President of the United States. Clearly, Dr. King’s dream had come true. White voters across America had judged our President by the content of his character, not the color of his skin, and elected a man...

Kid Pan Alley admits to indoctrinating children with song praising the #Occupy movement

These kids were trained to think they were the 99%, too

More Marxist brainwashing courtesy of the far-Left teachers that we trust to educate our children. Last month, the Woodbrook Elementary School in Charlottesville, Virginia drew harsh criticism for allowing the “Kid Pan Alley” organization to lead third-graders to create a song called “Part of the 99,” an anti-capitalist song praising the Occupy movement. When conservatives exposed this disgusting indoctrination, the Virginia School Board claimed that third-grade children chose this class warfare topic and then wrote the song loaded with envy-driven lyrics. “They don’t censor what the kids write. They don’t shape what the kids write,”  said. “It all comes out of the kids own mouths and the kids own words.” But now that Kid...
