More reasons to doubt Cain’s accusers

Posted 30 Nov 2011 in Herman Cain, media bias
Innocent until proven guilty?

After doing some more thinking and research about this most recent accusation about Herman Cain, I’ve come to seriously doubt the veracity of Ginger White’s claims. For one thing, White claims that she and Mr. Cain had a 13-year affair which just recently ended before he declared his candidacy. In addition to being unbelievable that a man of Cain’s accomplishments would engage in a Presidential campaign knowing full well that the media would root out any hint of impropriety, there’s the fact of Cain’s cancer. By White’s account, she and Cain would have been carrying on back in 2006, when Cain was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer. It had already metastasized to his liver and he was given a 30% chance of survival....

Will Herman Cain resign his candidacy? Should he?

I was disturbed yesterday to hear new allegations being made against Herman Cain. This time the accusations are not of sexual harassment, but of having a 13-year affair with a woman named Ginger White. The skeptic in me really wonders if this is true, and even so, if it’s just another attempt to force a good man from the race after the previous attacks failed to work. The timing makes me suspicious. Moreover, it frustrates me that President Bill Clinton coasted to two victories amid numerous counts of sexual impropriety (including allegations of rape) and continues to be wildly popular with Democrats. But Herman Cain is now expected to bow out after being accused of having an affair. We...

The OWS bike lock metaphor

To the self-described “99%”: The above photo is a visual metaphor for why the other 53% of us refuse to even listen to you. We are the cyclist, the bicycle is America’s economy, and you’re all those bike locks. When you block public areas and make it harder for regular folk to go about their business of making a living, you become assholes and we have no interest in what you’re whining about. When you camp on public property and transform it into filth-ridden zones of disease, violence, and crime, you become assholes and we have no interest in what you’re whining about. That, and the fact that you’ve teamed up with idiots like the American Nazi Party, Democratic...

The Little Red Hen, retold for the Age of Occupy

TheLittleRedHen

Felicia Cravens has rewritten the classic folk tale The Little Red Hen, updating it for the current political climate in America. Once upon a time, a lamb, a cat, a pig, and a little red hen lived on an old farm on a flowery hill surrounded by fields of golden wheat. One day, the Little Red Hen found some grains of wheat scattered in the barnyard. “Look what I’ve found!” she said to the other animals. “Who will help me plant these grains of wheat?” “Not I!” said the lamb.  “You’re taking jobs away from migrant workers who badly need them.” “Not I!” said the cat.  “You’re betraying feminist principles by engaging in menial labor.” “Not I!” said the pig. ...

The UC Davis Pepper Spray incident: police brutality or lawful escalation of force? [UPDATED: Police were surrounded and held hostage, they warned each protester before spraying]

Is this police brutality? Or lawful escalation of force?

***scroll down for updates*** Much hay has been made on the Internet over this past weekend following the now-infamous pepper-spray incident between Occupy protesters and police on the UC Davis campus. The reactions to it — cries of police brutality and pledges to reconvene protesters on a larger scale — seemed to mirror the reactions in New York, Seattle and elsewhere when the police quelled recent protests with force. As police officers moved to take down the tents at Davis on Friday afternoon, some protesters on a sidewalk on the campus quad linked arms and refused to stand. In one of the many YouTube videos of the episode, bystanders chant, “Don’t shoot students” before an officer shakes a pepper...

VIDEO: Occupy San Diego holds moment of silence for White House shooter

Occupy idiots standing in solidarity with a would-be assassin. (h/t: Verum Serum) The Left (and the media, but I repeat myself) have been in spin-control mode all week, trying to distance the Occupy Wall Street movement from Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, the lunatic who fired shots at the White House last week. Networks have dutifully ignored reports that Hernandez may have spent time in the Occupy DC camp. Maybe the Progressives in the video didn’t get the memo that supporting a would-be presidential assassin might not be good for the OWS cause. — UPDATE: Ace took the words right outta my mouth: If anyone in the Tea Party expressed solidarity with Jared Loughner (and if a group of Tea Partiers than bowed their head...

Occupy Dallas leaves a mess

OccupyDallas_mess

The Occupy movement in Dallas was just as pathetic as the OWS movement in Zuccotti Park, just smaller. And when forced to vacate the property on which they were camping, they left a predictable mess. Police have safely evicted all protesters at the Occupy Dallas campsite in a sweep that led to 18 arrests. The City of Dallas will hold a news conference at 10 a.m. to discuss the dismantling of the protest site. Shortly after midnight Thursday, officers cleared people from the site near City Hall, a day after Dallas leaders told demonstrators they could stay if they obeyed all laws. Nobody was hurt. Some tents and scattered personal belongings were left behind. Police had made several announcements, via...
