Obama campaigns against self-reliance
Since his economic policies have taken a failing economy and completely gutted it, the only thing Chairman Zero has to run on in 2012 is fear. And he played it up big-time in his latest campaign speech. The funny/sad thing is, he’s using the concept of personal responsibility to scare his supporters.
At a million-dollar San Francisco fundraiser today, President Obama warned his recession-battered supporters that if he loses the 2012 election it could herald a new, painful era of self-reliance in America.
“The one thing that we absolutely know for sure is that if we don’t work even harder than we did in 2008, then we’re going to have a government that tells the American people, ‘you are on your own,’” Obama told a crowd of 200 donors over lunch at the W Hotel.
“If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t afford college, you’re on your own. If you don’t like that some corporation is polluting your air or the air that your child breathes, then you’re on your own,” he said. “That’s not the America I believe in. It’s not the America you believe in.”
Obama and Democrats have been emphasizing what they see as the costly consequences of the Republicans’ agenda in an effort to stir up support, in part by touching on emotional nerves.
Democrats are saying there are “costly consequences” for our federal government to exist within its Constitutional limitations and to not spend beyond its means? Wow.

Without Democrats in power to give everyone a free pony, Americans might be forced to live within their means and make decisions for themselves, based upon what is prudent and feasible. Imagine that!
Of course, until Obama and his unicorn crew took over, America was like the Wild West, right? There were no federal regulations of any kind before Obama came along, right? America had absolutely no schools, roads or bridges until Obama and the Democrat Party rode to the rescue, right? And without Obama’s godlike benevolence to shelter everyone from those evil Republican monsters, American society will immediately devolve into complete anarchy and death.
Give me a break.
Democrats had two years of complete political domination over the White House and both houses of Congress. Yet even with their heavy hand of government and their nanny-state policies, things have gotten markedly worse than they were three years ago. So naturally, Obama wants to scare people into thinking America will slide into absolute chaos without Big Brother there to manage every aspect of our lives.
Sorry, Mr. President, but your argument doesn’t make any sense. And We The People just aren’t buying your snake oil any more.
