Obama’s $2.2 million dollar “Magical Misery Tour” bus… made in Canada

Obama's new campaign buses, paid for with $2.2 million dollars in taxpayer funds

“Greyhound One” aka “The Debt Star”

To prop up his dwindling 39% approval rating, our Community-Organizer-In-Chief decided it would be a good idea to spend $2.2 million dollars of taxpayer funds to purchase two armored buses and embark on a three-day “listening tour.” Yes, that’s $2.2 million dollars for a three-day photo-op.

Nevermind that Obama spent more time giving stump speeches and lecturing citizens than he did actually listening.

But no, this wasn’t a campaign event. It’s an “official event.”

It must be a coincidence that President Obama’s Magical Misery Tour just so happened to take place in battleground states where Obama needs to shore up support for 2012.

It must be a coincidence that this three-day tour just so happened to match the location and timing of the debate between GOP presidential candidates.

Sure, this is official Presidential business.

And if you believe all that, I’d like to sell you a couple of luxury buses made in Canada.

President Obama is barnstorming the heartland to boost US jobs in a taxpayer-financed luxury bus the government had custom built — in Canada, The Post has learned.

The $1.1 million vehicle, one of two that Quebec-based Prevost sold the government, has been tricked out by the Secret Service with state-of-the-art security features and creature comforts.

It’s a VIP H3-45 model, the company’s top of the line, and is used by major traveling rock bands.

“That’s the more luxurious model,” Christine Garant of Prevost told The Post.

The fact that these buses were built in Canada is especially hypocritical, given that President Downgrade is pushing a “made in America” message during his bus tour.

At his rural economic forum in Iowa Tuesday, President Obama exhorted the need to boost the manufacturing and export of U.S. cars and trucks to create jobs.

“We’ve got folks in America driving Kias and Hyundais. I want to see folks in Korea driving Fords and Chryslers and Chevys,” Obama said, drawing applause.

“I want to sell goods all over the world that are stamped with three words: ‘Made in America.’”

But it turns out the president’s new custom motor coach comes stamped with a brand that’s located someplace else: Canada.

The $1.1 million jet-black rumbling bus that has been carrying Obama through the Midwest this week was designed in part by Prevost, a motor coach manufacturer based in Quebec. The New York Post was first to report this, and Provost officials confirmed this fact to ABC News.

What could possibly be more tone-deaf than a President spending millions of taxpayer dollars for a three-day tour to greet jobless Americans in his rockstar bus? How about capping off that three-day tour with a plush 11-day, multi-million dollar vacation in Martha’s Vineyard afterwards?

At a time when many more cash-strapped Americans are stuck at home instead of vacationing at the beach, President Obama next week will lead an entourage of several dozens to exclusive Martha’s Vineyard island at a cost of millions to taxpayers.

While technically he is paying for his estimated $50,000 a week rental of the 28-acre beachfront Blue Heron Farm in woodsy Chilmark, the dozens of U.S. Secret Service agents, communications officials, top aides, drivers, and U.S. Coast Guard personnel with him will be covered by taxpayers as with every other presidential vacation.

His 11-day stay will require the Coast Guard to keep ships floating near Obama’s farm, a presidential helicopter and jet at the ready and security agents on 24-hour duty. Armored SUVs dubbed “war wagons” have been flown in to carry the presidential family around the island.

Gotta hand it to Team Obama, they sure know how to manage their optics.
