3 questions for defenders of Planned Parenthood…
With the Democrat Party angling toward a government shutdown, Twitter is ablaze today with debate over whether Planned Parenthood should receive taxpayer funds.
So to those who are naive enough to believe Planned Parenthood’s shell game (the laughable claim that federal funds do not fund abortions), let me ask you this:
- Would you approve of your taxes funding the Ku Klux Klan if they promised your money wouldn’t fund hate speech?
- Would you approve of federal funding of Westboro Baptist Church as long as Fred Phelps pledged that not a penny would go toward their “God hates fags” protests at military funerals?
- Would you approve of the government subsidizing the New Black Panther Party if Malik Shabazz declared they wouldn’t use federal money to fund their efforts to overthrow America and kill whitey?
These questions are ludicrous, of couse. Just as it is ludicrous to assert that taxpayer dollars going to Planned Parenthood don’t go toward abortion. Their business model is centered around abortion. It’s what they do. And funding them supports ALL their efforts, good and bad alike.
Planned Parenthood does NOT need federal funds in order to exist. Let those who believe in infanticide capitalize America’s loathsome abortion mills with their own money.

Very well said.Thank-You
As a woman who has used Planned Parenthood's services NOT for an abortion, but for a subsidized pap smear and breast exam, I find this post highly offensive. At the time, I didn't have health insurance through my employer. I was newly graduated from my Master's degree and working part-time. Thanks to Planned Parenthood, however, I was able to afford the care that I needed… and thank God for them, because during that pap smear, they found pre-cancerous cells on my uterus. If it hadn't been for them, I might not have been able to afford a pap smear otherwise. Contrary to Fox News' claim, you can't really get a pap smear and a breast exam at Walgreens. So, I want to ask you, if the government cuts funding to Planned Parenthood, where will women without employer-provided health insurance go for SUBSIDIZED pap smears???? Planned Parenthood has the potential to serve and benefit ALL women, even motivated, college-educated ones that AREN'T seeking abortions.
Prettylittlerose,
Thanks for taking the time to comment. I'm glad you were able to get the care you needed, but that still doesn't justify taxpayer funding of abortion through Planned Parenthood.
The National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program provides free or low cost Pap smears to women in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, 5 U.S. territories, and 12 tribes. Uninsured and impoverished women can receive these Pap smears at local county health departments, women's clinics and doctor's offices for little to no cost.
Taxpayers don't have to fund abortion-providing organizations in order for women to receive low-cost or free pap smears and breast exams. To argue otherwise is clearly a straw man argument intended to preserve Planned Parenthood's funding.
