Hold Washington accountable, VOTE today!

I voted! Have you?

Elitist Democrats are counting on your complacency (and their efforts at voter fraud) to ensure they can continue this course of bankrupting America and transforming our great nation into just another notch on socialism’s bedpost.

Your vote can help turn the tide and create a wave of dissent against the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda! Your vote determines whether Obama and Biden will be smirking or sweating tonight.

Today is the day to “put up or shut up” for every American who participated in the Tea Party movement since the first demonstration on February 27, 2009. We were concerned enough to get out and make our voices heard in the public square, today is for making our voices heard at the ballot box. And we have good cause to be excited:

The midterm elections are a prime-time test for that loosely knit and largely leaderless coalition, a force unheard of just two years ago. Tea party supporters rattled the Republican establishment in the primaries, booting out several veteran lawmakers and installing more than 70 candidates, nearly three dozen of whom are in competitive races Tuesday.

If successful, that conservative movement could come to Washington as a firewall against expansive federal spending, immigration liberalization and more, as well as a further threat to the historic health care law that Republicans hope somehow to roll back.

As Ed Morrissey says, “Release the Kraken!”

Every Election Day is a celebration, a reminder that no one rules us as long as those in power have to answer for their actions.

Laughing_Wolf over at Black Five make a compelling argument for responsible citizenship: [emphasis added]

You have the right to vote today, a right bought and paid for in blood by generations past and a generation fighting this very day.

You have the RESPONSIBILITY to cast an informed vote. It’s still not too late to read up on candidates, propositions, and more, and show that the Great Experiment in individual liberty and responsibility wasn’t a noble failure. Show that you are indeed a Citizen of the Republic, not a subject.

Study, read, make informed choices, and vote. It’s the least you can do given the blood price paid for you to exercise your franchise, your rights, and your responsibilities.

As I’ve mentioned on a few other occasions, a great way to express your thanks to the veterans who have safeguarded our American liberty is to make a donation to Project Valor-IT (they provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and other technology to wounded soldiers). If everyone reading this today donates even a dollar, think of all the good you can accomplish!

UPDATE: Via RedState — a 2008 Obama campaign ad, updated with his “accomplishments” as president. As if you needed any other reasons to vote Democrats out of office today and send a message to Oh Bah Mah.

UPDATE: And now, a bit of fun. American Thinker reminds us of 36 reasons to vote Democrat: (Here are just a few)

  1. If you want the American government to be feared by the American people — but laughed at by Hugo Chávez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — vote Democrat.
  2. If you want to agree with John Kerry that American voters are stupid and distracted and uninformed — vote Democrat.
  3. If you want a “dude” president — and not the shining city on a hill — vote Democrat.
  4. If you want to pay through the nose in taxes until you are 70 so union thugs in purple shirts can retire in security at age 50 — vote Democrat.
  5. If you like the fact that people who actually know the Constitution get laughed at by people who are ignorant of it — vote Democrat.
  6. If you want the entire country to be like Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, New Orleans, Chicago — vote Democrat.
  7. If you think liberalism and socialism have done a good job of managing the incredibly beautiful and rich state of California, vote Democrat.
  8. If you think America deserved what it got on 9-11 — and that we can handle another such attack — vote Democrat.
  9. If you want a government bureaucrat, who can no doubt access your voter registration records, to determine whether or not you get a hip replacement or a cancer treatment — vote Democrat.
  10. If you want to pay six dollars a gallon for gas — vote Democrat.

    Thanks for the link, Scott.

Yes, that's a great one. I posted it on Oct 22, it needs to be widely circulated.
