Democrat senator caught on mic saying Lame Duck session ‘all rigged’

Posted 30 Nov 2010 in Congress, Democrats, lies

It’s nice to see the Democrat party’s disingenuous calls for bipartisanship being hauled into the light of day, courtesy of a hot mic. During a moment of extreme candor that was picked up by a hot microphone, Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) on Tuesday was heard voicing his displeasure with Democratic plans for the lame-duck session of Congress. “It’s all rigged,” Bennet said to a colleague– possibly Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) — on the Senate floor. “I mean, the whole conversation’s rigged. The fact that we don’t get a discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck — it’s just rigged. This stuff’s rigged.”

"This is why the American people have thrown you out of power"

First, a little red meat: GOP Rep. Buyer blasts Acting Speaker Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA) for her partisan animosity… Via CBS.com: Buyer this afternoon asked Democratic Rep. Laura Richardson of California, who is acting as speaker, to yield time for him to speak on a veterans bill. Richardson refused, prompting Buyer to ask sarcastically, “as a sitting member of the House, the speaker chooses not to recognize another sitting member, is that correct?” Richardson responds that the decision on recognizing Buyer is up to the speaker – that is, her. An increasingly frustrated Buyer replies that she is choosing not to recognize a ranking Republican member dispute the fact that isn’t anyone on the floor to object to his...

Atheist billboard calls Christmas a myth

Posted 29 Nov 2010 in intolerance

Looks like some atheists just can’t stand it when people celebrate Christmas. A group called the American Atheists has paid for a huge billboard on Route 495 outside the Lincoln Tunnel in North Bergen, N.J., that is raising some eyebrows. The billboard shows a silhouette of the Three Wise Men approaching the Nativity, with the words: “You KNOW it’s a Myth / This Season, Celebrate REASON!” The group says the billboard is not designed to convert Christians to atheism. Rather, Dave Silverman, a spokesman for the American Atheists, says the sign is designed to encourage existing atheists who are going through the motions of celebrating Christmas to stop. Any minute now, I expect rampaging bands of Christians to begin...

Florida school bans Santa Claus and Christmas colors [UPDATED: District issues denial]

In a move sure to excite Scrooges and Grinches everywhere, Christmas has been banned for some Florida schoolchildren. A school in Florida has not only banned Christmas – but everything associated with the Christian holiday. Teachers at Heathrow Elementary School have been ordered to banish images of Santa Claus from classrooms – along with traditional Christmas colors like red and green. “You can’t use red and green,” one outraged parent told WESH. “It’s ridiculous.” The parent, who serves as a volunteer room mother, said she was recently given a list of guidelines that listed the holiday restrictions. She said the basic theme of the letter was, “We don’t want to offend anyone who doesn’t believe in Santa Claus or...

Religion of Peace update: FBI thwarts terrorist bombing attempt at Portland Christmas tree lighting

Posted 27 Nov 2010 in jihadists, Religion of Peace update, terrorism

Similar to the failed terrorist attacks here in Dallas last year and at Times Square this year, a Somali-born Muslim has been arrested for trying to detonate a car bomb at a Christmas tree lighting event. No word yet on whether Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar will walk off of The View in protest. Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, a Somali-born U.S. citizen, was arrested at 5:42 p.m., 18 minutes before the tree lighting was to occur, on an accusation of attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. The felony charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $250,000 fine. Wait, wait, wait…the maximum sentence is life in prison? Why not the death penalty? Does he...

A possible solution to TSA pat-downs and naked X-ray photos

Posted 24 Nov 2010 in terrorism, TSA

With this week being one the highest use of air travel, much is being said about TSA’s Backscatter X-ray (also known as “naked scanners” or “virtual strip-search) and their vulgar new “enhanced pat-down” technique. For one, the backscatter X-ray is incapable of detecting explosives that might be hidden in a breast implant or inserted into body cavities. Secondly, the amount of radiation to which travelers are being subjected is questionable. Some experts are disputing the government’s “don’t worry, trust us” approach and claiming that the new machines could pose a health hazard, exposing Americans to as much as 10x the amount reported. And third, nobody I know is eager to be intimately fingered by a TSA agent. My solution?...

It’s National "Opt-Out" Day

*** SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATES *** For those who are outraged by the Transportation Security Administration’s invasive new “virtual strip-search” scanners and “enhanced pat-down” body searches, today is National Opt-Out Day. (Or, as jcrue proposes, “Derek Smalls TSA Day.”) Grassroots airline boycott effort We Won’t Fly is organizing mass x-ray scanner opt outs at airports around the nation for National Opt Out of the Airport Scanners Day, November 24 in order to highlight the health and privacy dangers of the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) backscatter x-ray airport scanners. If you have to fly on November 24, opt out of the porno-scanners for your own health and privacy. Say “I opt out!” Tell your friends, family and community so they...

Opt Out = domestic extremist?

It’s come to this. Protest against TSA’s vulgar “enhanced pat-down” and you’ll be placed on the government’s enemies list. Canada Free Press columnist Doug Hagmann reports: Following the publication of my article titled “Gate Rape of America,” I was contacted by a source within the DHS who is troubled by the terminology and content of an internal memo reportedly issued yesterday at the hand of DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano. Indeed, both the terminology and content contained in the document are troubling. The dissemination of the document itself is restricted by virtue of its classification, which prohibits any manner of public release. While the document cannot be posted or published, the more salient points are revealed here. The memo, which...

TSA In My Pants

With TSA’s new enhanced pat-downs becoming increasingly “enhanced,” I think this might happen a lot tomorrow during National Opt-Out Day.

TSA announces "no plans" for cavity searches

Posted 23 Nov 2010 in terrorism, TSA, wise quotes

Well gee, isn’t this a relief? Although the Transportation Security Administration has been enhancing its aviation measures this year, agency head John S. Pistole said Monday that it has no plans to get into one of the worst-case screening scenarios: cavity checks. “We’re not getting into the business of doing body cavity ,” he said. “That’s not where we are.” While security experts have talked for years about the possibility of terrorists attacking U.S. airliners by concealing explosives in their bodies to avoid detection, Pistole said coming up with a specific countermeasure for the scenario — instituting manual checks or coming up with a technological solution — does not seem necessary. Due to the nature of the improvised explosive...
