9/11: nine years later
Nine years ago today, 19 inhuman animals hijacked three planes and used them to murder nearly 3,000 Americans in the name of Allah.
Today, our president describes these terrorists simply as a “sorry band of men.”
President Obama stressed that America was not at war with Islam as he decried the “sorry band of men” who attacked the nation nine years ago in memorial ceremonies at the Pentagon on Saturday.“The perpetrators of this evil act didn’t simply attack America; they attacked the very idea of America itself — all that we stand for and represent in the world,” Obama said. “And so the highest honor we can pay those we lost, indeed our greatest weapon in this ongoing war, is to do what our adversaries fear the most — to stay true to who we are, as Americans; to renew our sense of common purpose; to say that we define the character of our country, and we will not let the acts of some small band of murderers who slaughter the innocent and cower in caves distort who we are.”
This was no small band of terrorists. The 9/11 hijackers were merely the tip of the Islamic spear, part of the 91 million Muslims who want to kill all non-Muslims. These are the same Muslims who burn the American flag at the drop of a hat, like they did this week after hearing that a Florida pastor might burn the Koran.
President Obama’s speech exhibits the half-measure of his thinking. We have a Commander-In-Chief who refuses to acknowledge the poison called “jihad” which exists within Islam and is allowed to perpetuate under the guise of tolerance. Our own president is afraid to say “Muslim terrorists” for fear of offending Muslims who aren’t terrorists. He’s quick to defend the building of a triumphant mosque at Ground Zero while minimizing the objections of Americans who recognize this offensive move by Islamic supremacists. And he’s quick to condemn Americans who are offended at Muslim fascism and terrorism while ignoring the Muslims who hate America and actively seek our destruction.
Rather than continue to look the other way, perhaps Barack Hussein Obama could pull his head out of the Koran long enough to listen to Willaim Allen White, leader of the Progressive movement in the early 1900s:
“Any appeasement of tyranny is treason to this republic & to the democratic ideal.”

I pray that in 2012, we’ll elect someone who espouses the common sense and dedication to liberty eloquently described above by Andrew Klavan.
