Defense Department "misplaces" $8.7 Billion

Posted 27 Jul 2010 in corruption

When an employee can’t account for missing corporate funds, he or she is usually fired and — in some cases — prosecuted for embezzlement. Sadly, this won’t be one of those cases. BAGHDAD – The U.S. Defense Department is unable to properly account for over 95 percent of $9.1 billion in Iraqi oil money tapped by the U.S. for rebuilding the war ravaged nation, according to an audit released Tuesday. The report by the U.S. Special Investigator for Iraq Reconstruction offers a compelling look at continued laxness in how such funds are being spent in a country where people complain basic services like electricity and clean water are sharply lacking seven years after the U.S.-led invasion that toppled Saddam...

Sidling up to Stalin

Tell me this doesn’t sound dangerously close to what we now have with President Obama and the Democrats in power. “Totalitarianism is a political system where the state, usually under the control of a single political person, faction, or class, recognizes no limits to its authority and strives to regulate every aspect of public and private life wherever feasible.  Totalitarian regimes or movements maintain political power through an all-encompassing propaganda disseminated through the state-controlled mass media, a single party that is often marked by personality cultism, control over the economy, regulation and restriction of speech, mass surveillance, and widespread use of state terrorism.” “But wait,” you say, “our government doesn’t engage in terrorism against its citizens.” Tell that to...

Graphed: Obama’s "saved or created" jobs

Disturbing imagery from The Decline: The Geography of a Recession, using the U.S. Department of Labor’s statistics in graphic form. (h/t: Moonbattery) I find it particularly telling that the unemployment spreads from both coasts — where liberalism is more dominant — and eventually metasticizes through the rest of the country. Keep in mind, Democrats took control of both houses of Congress in 2007. And you can see the drastic increase in unemployment just in the past 18 months since Obama took control and began implementing his poisonous socialist doctrines. This is what Obama’s brand of “hope” does to our nation.

The effects look amazing (especially the de-aged Jeff Bridges). Can’t wait for this one!

Why Obama’s ‘Paycheck Fairness Act’ is absurd

Whenever a Democrat starts talking about “fairness,” you’re about to be robbed. Hang on to your wallet, here comes Obama’s newest flavor of Marxism; the Paycheck Fairness Act. President Obama plans to press Congress today to pass pay-equity legislation that would make it easier for women to sue employers who pay them less than their male counterparts, the White House said Monday. “Women deserve equal pay,” White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett said in an interview, citing government statistics that show women earn 77 cents for every dollar men earn. “It’s a very fundamental right.” Obama will announce his support for the Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that has languished in Congress for several years.A White House task force...

Congress’ approval rating hits all-time low 11%

Gee, I wonder why only 11% of Americans think Congress is doing a good job? Gallup’s 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year. Eleven percent of Americans say they have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008. The Gallup poll was conducted July 8-11, shortly before Congress passed a major financial regulatory reform bill, which President Obama signed into law this week. Underscoring Congress’ image problem, half of Americans now say they have “very little” or no confidence in Congress, up from 38% in 2009...

Obama admits in court that ObamaCare is a TAX

Posted 19 Jul 2010 in Barack Obama, Democrats, healthcare, lies, Obamacare, taxes

For months, President Obama and the Democrat party repeatedly denied that that the “minimum coverage provision” in ObamaCare is actually a tax which will impact Americans making well below $200,000. But now, Obama is directing his minions in the Justice Department to admit the truth in an attempt to fend off the legal challenge to the law’s constitutionality. In so doing, our president is now on record admitting that he DELIBERATELY LIED in order to expand the federal government and create another bloated entitlement program. Via New York Times: When Congress required most Americans to obtain health insurance or pay a penalty, Democrats denied that they were creating a new tax. But in court, the Obama administration and its...

VIDEO: Megyn Kelly vs. Kirsten Powers on NBPP voter intimidation

Epic smackdown. Megyn Kelly starts off by playing the clip of Congressman Brad Sherman (D – CA) blatantly lying that he’s “unaware” of the Department of Justice’s recent dismissal of the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party. But things really get interesting when Kelly destroys Kirsten Powers using the facts of the case. Powers’ feeble, emotion-based argument (complete with the obligatory last-resort “Blame Bush” tactic) highlights the blatant double standard of Obama’s DOJ and those who willfully turn a blind eye to racism & thuggery when it’s committed by black Democrats. Kirsten Powers at 2:52: “I looked at the video…the guy wasn’t really intimidating people. They were walking past him and voting, so I don’t really...

Why Obama will never win the fight against terrorism

Like him or hate him, Dr. Phil has an aphorism that is particularly germane to this story and to the way President Obama is fighting the war against Islamic terrorism: “You cannot change what you do not acknowledge.” Obama at odds with Petraeus doctrine on ‘Islam’ The White House’s official policy of banning the word “Islam” in describing America’s terrorist enemies is in direct conflict with the U.S. military’s war-fighting doctrine now guiding commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan. John O. Brennan, President Obama’s chief national security adviser for counterterrorism, delivered a major policy address on defining the enemy. He laid out the White House policy of detaching any reference to Islam when referring to terrorists, be it al Qaeda,...
