Calderon and Obama attack Arizona immigration law
***Scroll down for updates***
Arizona’s 10-page illegal immigration law must be written in Klingon, because nobody in the Obama administration seems to be capable of reading it. Yet that hasn’t stopped them from making outlandish accusations that the law somehow promotes racism, despite the fact that the law specifically forbids racial profiling.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon must not have read it, either, because he stood on American soil and denigrated the notion that we have the right to enforce our immigration laws.
President Obama and Mexican President Felipe Calderon joined hands Wednesday in blasting Arizona’s controversial immigration law, with Obama calling the legislation a “misdirected effort” after Calderon slammed it as discriminatory.Obama, speaking next to Calderon during Wednesday’s state visit, called the the tough immigration law a “misdirected expression of frustration over our broken immigration system.”
“We’re examining any implications especially for civil rights because in the United States of America, no law abiding person — be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico — should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like.”
Obama said he has directed the Justice Department to review the law and said he expects to receive a final report soon.
Arizona’s law, which takes effect in July, will make it a crime under state law to be in the U.S. illegally
At the start of Wednesday’s White House visit, Calderon said the law discriminated against Mexicans and called for the two countries to work together to develop an immigration policy that did not force people to live in the shadows “with such laws as the Arizona law, which is forcing our people to face discrimination.”
How dare he come here to our country as our guest and then criticize the way we enforce OUR laws. And shame on our president for standing there like a useful idiot instead of supporting America. Looks like Obama thinks that pesky “preserve, protect and defend” oath doesn’t apply when the tradeoff is millions of Mexican votes and permanent majority status for Democrats.
For a country that purports to be our friend and partner, Mexico has a funny way of showing it. They blatantly instruct their citizens how to successfully sneak across our border with their official publication, “Guide For The Mexican Migrant.”
Conversely, let’s not forget how Mexico treats illegal aliens.
Illegal entry into the country is equivalent to a felony punishable by two years’ imprisonment. Document fraud is subject to fine and imprisonment; so is alien marriage fraud. Evading deportation is a serious crime; illegal re-entry after deportation is punishable by ten years’ imprisonment. Foreigners may be kicked out of the country without due process and the endless bites at the litigation apple that illegal aliens are afforded in our country
Not to be outdone by Calderon, President Obama authored a new chapter in The Big Book of Amnesty Stupidity by announcing “We are not defined by our borders.” If one were to judge by the Obama administration’s actions, we’re not defined by our laws or our language either.
“The United States and Mexico are not simply neighbors, bound by geography and history. We are, by choice, friends and partners. We are bound by our business partners, workers and tourists who fuel our prosperity; by our students and educators who broaden our horizons; and by our men and women in uniform, who serve and sacrifice to keep us safe.…In the 21st century, we are defined not by our borders, but by our bonds. So I say to you and to the Mexican people, let us stand together. Let us face the future together. Let’s us work together. Trabajemos juntos.”
Mr. President, rather than siding with a country who habitually encourages millions of its citizens to invade our borders, circumvent our laws, and drain our resources, how about you call upon the United States and Mexico to respect one another and work together to secure the border and encourage LEGAL immigration?
