Obama’s State Of The Union pizza

Obama’s State Of The Union speech tonight (transcript here) reminded me of the new “Oh Yes We Did” ad campaign from Domino’s Pizza. The one where they acknowledge consumer complaints about their lackluster pizza and pledge that they’ve now reinvented their product “from the crust up.” But judging by many of the Twitter comments being posted to the #newpizza hashtag, Domino’s still has it wrong: “#newpizza tastes like a ball of jarred garlic rolled in a pile of sugar. You need to fire that head chef.” “new sauce sucked” “I am still paying for that #newpizza in heartburn, 48 hours later. That was SO not worth it by any stretch of the imagination.” “Dominos new pizza is disgusting. #imjustsayin”...

President Obama’s State of the Union Bingo

Posted 27 Jan 2010 in Barack Obama, humor

While the Teleprompter of the United States delivers the State of the Union speech through President Obama tonight, you can sit back and enjoy the mindless regurgitation of political buzzwords with my version of presidential BINGO. (The full-size card is available here.) Notably absent from the bingo card are the President’s numerous references to himself. Judging by the 132 times he mentioned himself in his “jobs” speech last week, that could be a game all by itself.

The One uses teleprompters to speak before 6th graders?

Posted 25 Jan 2010 in Barack Obama, humor

President Barack Hussein Obama (mmmm mmm mmm), flanked by his ever-present teleprompters, as he speaks to 6th grade students at Graham Road Elementary School in Falls Church, Va., Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. From the look of the tiny stool and the papers on the wall in the classroom behind him (e.g. pictures of houses made with cut paper house, months of the year listed on the bulletin board), I’d guess this took place a 1st or 2nd grade classroom. Maybe they wanted to put The Lightworker in an environment where his accomplishments would shine more brightly.—UPDATE: Now the official spin from the White House is that the teleprompters were there to help Dear Leader when he addressed the press,...

Obama administration thinks 50 minutes of interrogation is enough for terrorists

For years, we’ve been told how terrible President George W. Bush is because he insisted on keeping terrorists detained in Guantanamo. President Barack Obama ran on a campaign promise that he would shut down Gitmo and put terrorists on trial in civilian courts (because surely, when all the jihadists see how nice & reasonable we are, they’ll stop trying to kill us, right?). Now we’re seeing how that kind of misguided ideology plays out in the real world. Washington — For hours after allegedly trying to use a bomb hidden in his underwear to blow up a Christmas Day flight to Detroit, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab talked and talked—to Customs officers, medical personnel, and FBI agents. He spoke openly about...

Taking a few days off due to death in the family

Posted 20 Jan 2010 in personal

There’s a lot going on this week and plenty that I’d love to comment on. But my best friend just died of a sudden & unanticipated heart attack yesterday, so I’ll be offline for a few days. Make time today to hug someone you love and remind them of your affection. You truly never know when they might be taken away.

A song for Martha Coakley: "The State of Massachusetts"

Posted 15 Jan 2010 in Democrats, healthcare

Ok, the lyrics aren’t a perfect match but there are a few lines that reminded me of the contentious race between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown. So it’s a good excuse to post something by one of my favorite bands, Dropkick Murphys. “She had excuses and she chose to use them… …I supposed you’ve been a victimThough I suspect you may have lied…” And the song’s money line nails the inevitable result if Massachusetts voters put Coakley into Ted Kennedy’s vacant Senate seat and ensure the government’s takeover of our healthcare system: “…these kids don’t stand a chance with you in their future!”

Man boards flight with SHOTGUN AMMUNITION in his carry-on bag

Posted 12 Jan 2010 in outrage, stupidity

Keep in mind, this happened AFTER the Christmas Day bomb attack on board Northwest Flight 253 and President Obama’s perfunctory speech about improving America’s security. Thanks a pantload, TSA! It looks like you’re taking your job about as seriously as our president takes his. MADISON, Wis. — A passenger inadvertently carried shotgun shells onto a Dallas-bound Midwest Airlines plane at Milwaukee’s airport on Monday before he realized his mistake and alerted flight attendants, authorities said. The man, who was not identified, did not mean any harm, saying he had forgotten that the ammunition was in his carryon bags when he boarded the flight, Transportation Security Administration spokesman Jim Fotenos said. TSA agents turned the ammunition over to local police...

Obama’s sauce for the Democrats’ racist goose

Posted 11 Jan 2010 in Barack Obama, Democrats, hypocrisy, racism

There’s been a big stink this weekend over remarks made in 2008 by Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, referencing candidate Barack Obama as a “light-skinned” African-American “with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.” As if Americans are so racist they wouldn’t only vote for a black candidate if he didn’t look or sound black. Predictably, Republicans are feigning outrage and Democrats are defending Reid. The reason the GOP has their collective boxers in a bunch goes back to 2002, when Mississippi Republican Trent Lott praised Strom Thurmond (once a segregationist) on the occasion of his 100th birthday: “When Strom Thurmond ran for president , we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And...

Obama breaks 8 promises to televise healthcare deliberations

Posted 07 Jan 2010 in Barack Obama, Democrats, healthcare, lies

I guess President Obama just isn’t satisfied with breaking a promise, he’s got to do it in ways that match his “historic” presidency. In this case, he’s abandoned the promise he made 8 TIMES on the campaign trail: to make transparent the Congressional deliberations on healthcare by televising them on C-SPAN so voters can be aware of what’s happening. He’s actually gone so far as to meet with congressional Democrats and told them he wants to “fast track” the final health care bill to avoid public hearings and any Republican involvement. Gee, I wonder why he’s suddenly decided that transparency no longer applies to his administration? Could it be that he realizes this bill is SO unpopular and detestable...

The Democrat’s newest stealth inititative: "Universal Voter Registration"

Posted 06 Jan 2010 in 2010 election, corruption, Democrats, liberals

After spending staggering sums of taxpayer dollars in the midst of a recession, displaying utter ineptitude on national security, and arrogantly foisting “healthcare” legislation upon an American public who have overwhelmingly voiced opposition to it, how do Democrats plan to survive politically? How do these politicians plan to withstand the inevitable voter backlash which is certain to come in the November elections as a result of their selfish & irresponsible actions? Simple. They’ll cheat. Their newest bit of chicanery should be called the “Stuff The Ballot Box With Millions of New Democrats Eager For More Handouts” bill. But since that doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, they’re euphemistically calling it “Universal Voter Registration.” The Wall Street Journal‘s John Fund...
