Religion of Peace update: The Ft. Hood shootings
***Scroll down for updates***
I was aghast when I heard the news last week that American soldiers had been shot at Ft. Hood. I was even more shocked to hear it was perpetrated by one of their fellow soldiers.
But when I heard the name of the shooter, I’m sad to say I wasn’t surprised at all.
I refrained from immediate comment, however, as I tend to already be distrustful of radical Islamists in America. And Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s cowardly acts of violence just reconfirmed my suspicions. Still, I kept my opinions to myself for a few days, as last week was NOT the time for “I told you so.” But the more facts come to light about this scumbag, the more we’re finding he fits the profile for the kind of jihadist nutjobs that continue to be churned out by the Religion of Peace™. And the more apologists come forward to spout liberal platitudes to explain Hasan’s atrocities, the more I’m convinced that now IS the time to speak up.
Even President Obama — our Commander in Chief — urged Americans against “jumping to conclusions until we have all the facts.” (Because, ya know, when someone yells “Allahu Akbar!” as they murder our soldiers on American soil, we’re not really sure whether that’s a case of terrorism or not.) Our president’s inability to take a stand despite clear evidence has been just like his dithering on Afghanistan. Too bad he wasn’t so cautious when he mouthed off claiming Cambridge police “acted stupidly” when they arrested his buddy, Harvard Professor Henry Louis “Skip” Gates.
The whole notion that we shouldn’t “judge” is partially responsible for this massacre. That’s not to excuse bias and prejudice. There are, in fact, many peaceful and patriotic Muslim Americans. But it’s important to note that our situational awareness – especially in regard to our war against Islamic terrorists – is slowly being choked off by those who incorrectly condemn prudence as bigotry.
There were a LOT of red flags that were overlooked in the name of political correctness because Hasan is a Muslim. And judging by the FBI’s lack of action in the face of evidence, we’re not allowed to be suspicious of Muslims, even when questionable behavior warrants it.
For example, Hasan was a big fan of the “spiritual advisor” to three of the 9/11 terrorists.
Hasan, the sole suspect in the massacre of 13 fellow US soldiers in Texas, attended the controversial Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as two of the September 11 terrorists, The Sunday Telegraph has learnt. His mother’s funeral was held there in May that year. The preacher at the time was Anwar al-Awlaki, an American-born Yemeni scholar who was banned from addressing a meeting in London by video link in August because he is accused of supporting attacks on British troops and backing terrorist organisations.
Hasan’s eyes “lit up” when he mentioned his deep respect for al-Awlaki’s teachings, according to a fellow Muslim officer at the Fort Hood base in Texas, the scene of Thursday’s horrific shooting spree.
As investigators look at Hasan’s motives and mindset, his attendance at the mosque could be an important piece of the jigsaw. Al-Awlaki moved to Dar al-Hijrah as imam in January, 2001, from the west coast, and three months later the September 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour began attending his services. A third hijacker attended his services in California.
In a disgusting display of “the acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree,” al-Awlaki has posted an article, saying “Nidal Hassan Did the Right Thing,” using the Qu’ran and Islamic arguments to justify Hasan’s murderous actions.
Another huge red flag was the fact that Hasan he listed himself on his business card as a “Soldier of Allah.” He also posted online comments praising the “heroism” of suicide bombers and had been known to argue that Muslims had the right to stand up to the “aggressor” in the Middle East. Such actions would seem to be a violation of Article V the military’s Code of Conduct:
“I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.”
If that weren’t bad enough, Hasan even tried to contact al Qaeda (which is, in itself, a violation of Article 104 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice). Yet U.S. intelligence agencies did nothing to stop him.
Now we’ve got American Muslim radicals openly cheering the Fort Hood shootings:
This reminds me of when Palestinians celebrated the slaughter of 8 Israeli students by dancing for joy in the streets, firing weapons into the air and handing out candy to children.
We shouldn’t use this act of terrorism to repeat the kind of paranoid behavior that led to the internment of thousands of innocent Japanese Americans during World War 2. But neither should we allow the notions of multiculturalism and political correctness to continue causing us to turn a blind eye to evil in our midst.
If there’s a silver lining in all this, it’s the fact that a misogynistic Islamic jihadist was stopped cold by a 5’2″ woman – Kimberly Munley, a civilian Fort Hood police officer. I wonder if Hasan saw who shot him? The only thing that would have made it even better is if she had shot him with bacon-wrapped hollow points.

UPDATE: Ft. Hood terrorist Nidal Malik Hasan is awake and talking. (h/t: Michelle Malkin)
U.S. Army hospital spokesman says the man suspected in a deadly shooting spree at Fort Hood, Texas, is conscious and able to talk.Dewey Mitchell, a spokesman at Brooke Army Medical Center, says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan remains in stable condition. Mitchell says Hasan has been awake and able to talk since he was taken off a ventilator Saturday.
Hasan is at Brooke Medical Center in San Antonio, about 150 miles southwest of Fort Hood.
He’s able to talk? Time to break out the waterboard. And a firehose enema nozzle.

UPDATE: To get a feel for the kind of blatant sedition that was overlooked thanks to the recent trend toward political correctness in our military, here’s Nidal Hasan’s slide presentation, “The Koranic World View As It Relates to Muslims in the Military.” (h/t: Michelle Malkin)
