President Obama’s misplaced priorities
Just a little reminder why President Obama continues to drag his feet on Afghanistan yet has no difficulty ramming through a massive new healthcare entitlement program. He’s made his priorities pretty clear…
…on government-run healthcare: failure is not an option.
“So let there be no doubt: health care reform cannot wait, it must not wait, and it will not wait another year.”
…on Afghanistan: not only has there been no urgency to his decision-making, but victory is not necessarily the United States’ goal.
“I’m always worried about using the word ‘victory,’ because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur.”
Supposedly, Obama will be announcing his long-delayed decision on Afghanistan Tuesday evening . Let’s hope he’ll follow the advice of his generals and will shift his priority to bringing that war to a successful conclusion rather than his continued focus on the defeat of his political opponents and securing his big-government legacy.
