Tea Party tells GOP, "Put up or shut up!"
Dana Loesch gave an inspiring speech today at the St. Louis Tea Party rally. Watch from about 18 minutes in:

On Thursday, the Nationwide Tea Party Coalition called on the Republican Party to denounce the New York Republican Congressional Committee’s selection of über liberal Dede Scozzafava and their crusade against Doug Hoffman, bona fide conservative, backed by the Conservative Party. Tea party groups, frustrated after carrying the water for a hibernating party only to be ignored and attacked as “divisive” by certain GOP leaders, have demanded that Republicans “put up or shut up” when it comes to conservative leadership.
Watch the video and check out the rest of her post, it’s good stuff.
This is not the time for the Tea Party movement to compromise with radical leftists like Dede Scozzafava, as Newt Gingrich has advocated. It’s not time to back down, nor to tolerate more of the same treatment we’ve endured from the Washington elite. And it’s certainly not time to stand idly by while President Obama and his administration work to inflict “fundamental change” on America, abrogating our liberty and bankrupting our economy with vacuous socialist dogma.
It’s time for patriotic Americans to take our country back — from Democrats and Republicans — whose policies and actions run counter to the Constitution and traditional American values. As Dana’s sign declares, it’s time for the GOP to PUT UP OR SHUT UP!
St. Louis Tea Party organizer Bill Hennessey mentioned the same thing that came to my mind when I heard Dana’s impassioned appeal; the scene from Braveheart where William Wallace begs Robert The Bruce to unite Scotland’s clans, to be the figurehead behind which Scotland would stand against their English oppressors. And while our situation is not so dire as theirs, especially since our “oppressors” in this case are politicians we have freely – if foolishly – chosen, the ever-growing Tea Party movement needs a leader to unite behind.
So who will step forward?
Robert: “Now you’ve achieved more than anyone ever dreamed, but fighting these odds it looks like rage, not courage.”
William: “It’s well beyond rage. Help me. In the name of Christ, help yourselves! Now is our chance, now. If we join, we can win. If we win, well then we’ll have what none of us have ever had before: a country of our own. You are the rightful leader, and there is strength in you. I see it. Unite us. Unite us! Unite the clans!”
