Obama Newspeak Update

It’s really getting disturbing how Democrats and the Obama administration keep changing their terminology whenever the American public doesn’t buy what they’re selling.

So in the interest of clarity, here’s the latest Newspeak lexicon straight from the “Ministry of Truth.”

  • “Heath Care Reform” is now “Health Insurance Reform”

  • “Cap and Trade” is now “Pollution Reduction and Investment”

  • “Stimulus” is now “Recovery and Reinvestment”

  • “Bailout” is now “Rescue” or “Safety Net”

  • “Troubled Asset Relief Program” (TARP) is now “Emergency Economic Stabilization Act”

  • “Global War on Terror” is now “Overseas Contingency Operation”

  • “Enemy combatants” is now “Persons Whom the President Has the Authority to Detain”

  • “Terrorist attack” is now “Man-Caused Disaster”

  • “Global Warming” is now “Climate Change”

  • “Swine Flu” is now “H1N1″

There are a few other terms which have escaped the notice of the mainstream media but must be sent down the Memory Hole:

  • “Socialist Takeover of 1/6 of the U.S. Economy” is now “Public Option”

  • “Illegal immigrant” is now “Registered Democrat”

  • “Convicted Felon” is now “ACORN Census Worker”

  • “Tax Cheat” is now “Treasury Secretary”
