Government runs low on Swine Flu vaccine, so guess who get immunized?

The recent Swine Flu “crisis” is case-in-point why the federal government has no business getting involved with American healthcare. The Washington Examiner‘s Mark Tapscott explains:

President Obama’s late-night declaration of a nationwide public health emergency last night shouldn’t be allowed to obscure the most important lesson of the developing swine flu crisis – The same government that only weeks ago promised abundant supplies of swine flu vaccine by mid-October will be running your health care system under Obamacare.
[...]
But here we are five weeks later and news reports are coming in from across the nation of long waiting lines of people wanting the shot, but being turned away because of grossly inadequate supplies. The typical explanation from public health officials is that the swine flu vaccine requires more time to be cultivated than seasonal flu vaccine.

That’s no doubt true, but did federal public health officials just discover that fact? These are the same government officials who will be in charge of your health care under the government-run health care system being sought by Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress.

Are they lying or just incompetent? Either way, do you want these clowns running your healthcare?

But wait, it gets even better.

DALLAS – Dallas County has received its first shipment of the swine flu vaccine that will be available to the public.

Health Director Zachary Thompson said public demand and local media inquiries to state and federal officials have helped hasten the arrival of 5,700 doses of the vaccine.

The county had requested a much larger shipment. But, officials now believe they at least have enough to start a mass vaccination to the likes of which they say hasn’t been seen in the county in decades.

“I want to be very clear. It’s still short of what we have requested. The total amount that Dallas County Health and Human Services requested is 20,000 doses of the H1N1 vaccine. We still want our 20,000 doses. We need our 20,000 doses,” Thompson said.

The precious medicine will still be for those people deemed most at risk.

And the health department plans to give priority to those without a permanent health care provider or insurance.

Wait a minute, which is it? Those deemed most at risk, OR those without a permanent health care provider or insurance? With 85% of Americans (roughly 255,000,000 people) having health insurance, there are MANY “at risk” people who will be excluded if the priority is to give the vaccine first to the uninsured.

Which means thanks to political correctness, illegal immigrants will be getting vaccinated before American citizens will.
