Empire State Building goes red to celebrate communist China

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS OUTRAGE? New York is seeing red over the decision to turn the city’s highest beacon — and one of America’s symbols for free enterprise — into a shining monument honoring China’s communist revolution Wednesday night. The Empire State Building is set to be illuminated in red and yellow lights to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the bloody communist takeover. The tower is lit in white most nights, but nearly every week gets splashed with color to honor holidays and heroes — red, white and blue for Independence Day, green for St. Patrick’s Day, true blue for New York’s Finest. The building’s managers say they have honored a host of countries, including Canada, India and...

Obama proposes extending the school year

Sure, Obama’s already wasting trillions of dollars in new spending for bailouts, cash for clunkers, and takeovers of the financial & auto industries. So why not top things off by expanding the public education system and lengthening the school year? If the academic year gets pushed deeper into summer, as President Obama is advocating, the grumbling will not be limited just to students and teachers who will be forced to spend more days in school. Critics say the president’s call for a longer academic calendar and a shorter summer vacation will bring on a host of unintended consequences — including increased costs for school systems, major cuts to the nation’s hotel and tourism industries, and a serious blow to...

More "Dear Leader" brainwashing in public school

When the president addressed the nation’s schoolchildren two weeks ago, Conservatives spoke out against the accompanying indoctrination material disguised as “lesson plans” and were quickly demonized as reactionary and racist. Nevertheless, the White House quickly sanitized the language of the materials and the president delivered an innocuous speech. Then yesterday, this sickening bit of Obamaganda hit the internet: Sung to the tune of “The Battle Hymn Of The Republic” Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama He said all should lend a hand to make the country strong again Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama He said we must be fair today, equal work means equal pay. Mmm, mmm, mmm, Barack Hussein Obama He said take a stand, make sure...

Dems block oversight of Obama’s czars

Posted 25 Sep 2009 in Barack Obama, corruption, czars, Democrats, hypocrisy

President Obama campaigned on making government more open and transparent. But the Democrats today proved once again just how hollow that promise was. Senate Democrats, under pressure from a White House arguing separation of powers, rejected a GOP attempt Thursday to provide greater transparency and congressional oversight of 18 czars appointed by the Obama administration without Senate confirmation. Democrats employed a procedural tactic to kill the GOP proposal that would have withheld federal funds for the creation of any new, unconfirmed czar positions until the administration agreed to allow the individuals to testify before Congress under “reasonable” requests. The proposal also would have required every czar to produce a detailed “public, written report” biannually of their actions and involvement...

Religion of Peace update: Illegal immigrant Jordanian terrorist tries to blow up Dallas building; UPDATE: three more Muslim extremists intercepted

***Scroll down for updates***So much for the notion that Obama’s presidency means that jihadists would no longer wish to destroy America. DALLAS – Federal authorities arrested a 19-year-old Jordanian citizen whom they said placed an inactive car bomb today at Fountain Place, a 60-story skyscraper in downtown Dallas. Hosam Maher Husein Smadi has repeatedly voiced his intent to serve Osama bin Laden and al-Qa’ida and commit “violent Jihad,” authorities said in a prepared statement. “Today’s arrest of Hosam Maher Husein Smadi underscores the FBI’s unwavering commitment to bring to justice persons who attempt to bring harm to citizens of this country and significant danger to this community,” special FBI agent in charge Robert E. Casey, Jr. said in the...

Al Qaeda terrorists escape prison

Another reason why we should not bring al-Qaeda terrorist detainees from Gitmo onto U.S. soil: BAGHDAD — Sixteen prisoners, including leaders of Al Qaeda and other extremist groups who had been sentenced to death, escaped from a prison in northern Iraq, in what officials described as a brazen breach of security that prompted a manhunt across a swath of the country on Thursday. Iraqi officials imposed a curfew and, with American search dogs and aircraft, began a massive search after the prisoners slipped out of a detention center in the city of Tikrit just before midnight on Wednesday, officials said. One of the prisoners was captured Thursday in an orchard about 12 miles away, but the others remained at...

Palin goes to Hong Kong, criticizes Obama

Posted 24 Sep 2009 in Bill Clinton, Republicans, Sarah Palin, stupidity

Sarah Palin has really stepped in it, choosing to criticize President Obama while she was speaking overseas yesterday. Sarah Palin took her closely watched political act overseas for the first time since resigning as governor of Alaska, telling a Hong Kong audience that President Barack Obama had weakened American influence in Asia. With speculation raging over whether the former Republican vice presidential candidate is planning to challenge Mr. Obama in the 2012 presidential race or simply trying to convert her fame and popularity into income, Ms. Palin gave a 90-minute speech Wednesday that touched in part on foreign-policy issues, which were seen as her weak spot in the 2008 campaign. Ms. Palin’s address at a conference sponsored by investment...

Obama’s strategy: America loses, the world wins.

Reagan — “Here’s my strategy on the Cold War: We win, they lose.” Obama — “Here’s my strategy on everything: We lose, the world wins.” (Ok, that second quote is made up. But it’s not far off.) Much is being said of President Obama’s speech before the UN, wherein he badmouthed America, apologized for being the world’s sole remaining superpower and belittled our benevolence around the world. Sadly, this was more of the same from our Community Organizer In Chief. National Black Republican Association chairman Frances Rice penned an excellent review of Obama’s performance as president so far, summarizing many of his subversive actions. During his first eight months in office, Obama has exhibited his admiration for dictators and...

Biden signals "the end of the road" for Obama’s agenda

This potential change gives me hope more than any of the rainbows and unicorns they promised during the 2008 campaign! (h/t: Hot Air) Vice President Joe Biden said today that if Democrats were to lose 35 House seats they currently hold in traditionally Republican districts, it would mean doomsday for President Obama’s agenda. Biden said Republicans are pinning their political strategy on flipping these seats. “If they take them back, this the end of the road for what Barack and I are trying to do,” the vice president said at a fundraiser for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) today in Greenville, Delaware… Biden said these House seats are Republicans “one shot” at breaking the Obama administration’s agenda. But if Democrats...

Former President Bush, now "retired guy" still refuses to criticize Obama

Posted 22 Sep 2009 in Barack Obama, George W. Bush, responsibility

I heard the recording of this interview on my drive home yesterday. Whether you agreed or disagreed with President Bush’s policies (and I STRONGLY disagreed with several of Bush’s policies), you must admit the man has class. “My place in the world is out of the spotlight,” he said in the interview Monday morning. “I am going to meld back into society and try to contribute to the community. “I’m through with that phase in my life. I’m happy to be . . . an active citizen of the Metroplex.” A few of his remarks during the radio interview: President Barack Obama: Bush said he told his successor that he would not criticize the work he does in office. “I didn’t...
