Twittio Killed The Bloggio Star…

Posted 02 Aug 2009 in personal

Back in January, I was laid off a second time in the space of two years. Since then, I’ve been working wherever I can as a freelance Art Director until I can find another full-time job as a Creative Director (a position that seems to be in VERY short supply here in Dallas).

Used to be, I could blog during lunch every day. Writing before work, finishing & posting at noon allowed me to post several times a day. But now, the company where I’m freelancing not only blocks Blogger & Flickr, they seem to actively block just about every news site & blog on the web. Add to that, the fact that my daily commute takes an hour each way, and you’ve got a recipe for blog atrophy. Twitter, on the other hand, is VERY easy to do via iPhone. So I had been spending more time tweeting than blogging.

But…

Yesterday, while perusing the App Store on my iPhone, I discovered BlogPress: an app that purports to make blogging easier by phone. I’ve tried posting by phone before, without a native app; just emailing the post to my blog & then publishing. While it’s possible, the process is significantly more difficult than it could/should be. So I’ve decided to spring for the $3 and give BlogPress a try. Hopefully, it will enable more regular posts here until my employment situation improves.
