The growing list of Obama cabinet nominees’ ethics violations
It’s getting to to where you’ll need a roster to keep track of all the ethics violations of President Obama’s cabinet members and nominees.
- U.S. trade representative nominee, Former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk — $10,000 in unpaid taxes
- White House Office on Urban Policy nominee, Adolfo Carrión – Received questionable “pay for play” contributions
- Health and Human Services nominee, Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle — $128,000 in unpaid taxes
- Chief Performance Officer nominee, Nancy Killefer — $946.69 tax lien on her home for failure to pay unemployment compensation tax on household help
- Commerce Secretary nominee, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson — Under grand jury investigation for “pay for play” corruption
- White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel — legally questionable behavior shielding personal income in a “charitable foundation” and possibly $100,000 in unpaid property taxes
- Secretary of Labor, Hilda Solis — House ethics violations/lobbying conflict of interest
- Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner — $34,000 in unpaid back taxes and interest
Aside from their obvious corruption, what else do all these people have in common? Hint: they’re not Republicans.
It looks like “Peggy the Moocher” was right after all:
“I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know. If I help [Obama], he’s gonna help me.”
Hope! Change! Judgment to lead!
