As someone who grew up in the 60s, it’s hard for me to believe the 180° turnabout our society has made in the past 40 years. If they filmed this Andy Griffith Show episode today, Andy would have been sued by the boy’s father and the ACLU, likely resulting in the loss of his job as well as a visit by Child Protective Services.
