"Connecting the dots" on Islamic terrorism…a job the Obama administration just won’t do. UPDATE: Obama finally responds & more explosives on planes

***Scroll down for updates***There’s SO much stupidity that fills this story, it’s hard to know where to begin. So let’s “connect the dots,” shall we? First, we have a “senior administration official” claiming that this was “an attempted act of terrorism.” But let’s get something straight. This was not just attempted. It was completely carried out. A Muslim terrorist successfully smuggled explosives aboard a flight bound for America and detonated them. It’s only the fact that he’s absolutely inept that the passengers of NWA Flight 253 are — thankfully — still alive. Next, we have the terrorist himself: Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, the Nigerian whackjob jihadist with ties to al-Qaeda who’s been known to American intelligence agencies for at...

Some Christmas gift ideas for Congress

Unfortunately, I’ve been way too busy lately to blog. And it’s been very frustrating for me because the healthcare takeover currently being concocted by the Democrats is the most draconian, heavy-handed usurpation of liberty I’ve seen in my lifetime. Since Congressional Democrats insist on foisting upon America a hugely unwanted “gift” of government-run healthcare, and since they are rushing to vote on it in clear defiance of the expressed will of the vast majority of their constituents, I’d like to recommend a few gifts we could send them in return as tokens our esteem. At least until they come home and we can (peacefully) confront them the way we did over the summer at numerous “Town Hall Meetings”. Purchase...

The Wreath of Khan

Just in time for Christmas… “Ah, Kirk, my old friend, do you know the Klingon proverb that tells us revenge is a dish that is best served cold? It is very cold…in December!”

Yes, I’m still here, popping up from time to time but largely underground this week. I’m following the latest examples of the Democrat culture of corruption in their taxpayer-funded payoffs and kickbacks on their Obamacare vote in the Senate, just haven’t had much time to write about it. I’m still very active on Twitter, however, so click the link to your right and join the conversation.

(Video h/t: We Are Movie Geeks)Ridley Scott directs, Russell Crowe stars as the legendary arrow-splitter and Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian. It’s scheduled to hit theaters theaters May 14th, 2010. And it sure as hell looks better than Kevin Costner’s version!

Obama gives himself "a solid B+" but Americans give him a far different grade

Posted 14 Dec 2009 in 2010 election, Barack Obama, economy

President Obama appeared on an ABC puff piece with Oprah Winfrey this weekend and, not surprisingly, gave himself high marks for his job performance so far. US President Barack Obama rated as ‘B-plus’, his performance for the first eleven months in office, emphasizing that he still had much more to achieve. While claiming to have achieved new grounds in economic and international grounds, Obama awarded himself “a solid B-plus” grade when asked by Oprah Winfrey as to what grade he would give himself. Asked for reasons why he wasn’t giving himself the top grades, the US president appearing on a ABC network programme ‘Christmas at the White House special’ said because he took office at a time when US...

Weird spiral light show over Norway; UFO or Russian Bulava missile?

Posted 10 Dec 2009 in Barack Obama, humor, pop culture, stupidity

Ok, this is just TOO weird. It looks like some cheesy Photoshop job. But click this link and check the multiple photos from multiple angles and photographers as well as the video. If this is a hoax, it’s pretty darn elaborate. What’s blue and white, squiggly and suddenly appears in the sky? If you know the answer, pop it on a postcard and send it to the people of Norway, where this mysterious light display baffled residents yesterday. Speculation was increasing today that the display was the result of an embarrassing failed test launch of a jinxed new Russian missile. The Bulava missile was test-fired from the Dmitry Donskoi submarine in the White Sea early on Wednesday but failed...

New poster & photo from Tron Legacy

Here’s the new teaser movie poster for Tron 2, now called “Tron Legacy.” It’s great that they chose to focus on the lightcycles; that was the coolest part of the original Tron movie. Disney also released a shot of the new lightsuits. Looks good so far: I’m REALLY hoping this movie isn’t teh suck. In case you hadn’t seen it already, check out the teaser trailer that aired at Comic Con back in July. And just for good measure, a still shot of the new lightcycles.

There’s just way too much personal drama going on in my life right now, not enough time to blog (despite the preponderance of critical issues this week). So I’m going dark for a few days in order to deal with personal issues. In the meantime, check out a few of the good folks on my blogroll over there on the sidebar; they’ll have more than enough good content for you to read & enjoy.

"Carbonhagen" eco-hypocrisy summit

Posted 07 Dec 2009 in environment, hypocrisy, stupidity

Get a load of the “carbon footprint” being generated by the do-as-I-say, not-as-I-do pinheads descending on Copenhagen in over 1,200 limos and 140 private planes to enjoy foie gras and sculpted caviar wedges. Via al-Reuters: On a normal day, Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen’s biggest limousine company, says her firm has twelve vehicles on the road. During the “summit to save the world”, which opens here tomorrow, she will have 200. “We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention,” she says. “But it seems that somebody last week looked at the weather report.” Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in...
