Obama’s ACORN Freudian slip

The saying I’ve always heard is “an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.” Seems Obama has ACORN on the brain.

Which is understandable because his former employer has been busy adding more fraudulent voters to the Democrat ranks; two weeks ago it was Florida, North Carolina, and Colorado, last week it was Wisconsin, earlier this week they got busted in Nevada, now they’re running afoul of the law in Ohio, too.

Cleveland, OH – Cuyahoga County Election Board members grilled representatives of a community group Tuesday about their links to suspicious voter registration cards.

In one case, a Cleveland resident was registered to vote three times in a single day, listing two different addresses.

The man’s registration was submitted to the Board of Elections by ACORN.

The board discussed several other cases of multiple registrations at their meeting. ACORN was involved in each case, although not for all entries by the same individuals.

“Problems do occur and we are concerned as you are, perhaps in some cases more concerned because our name is on that,” says Teresa James, an attorney volunteering with ACORN.

While admitting they don’t have the resources to track all multiple entries, they submit all registrations to the Board and attach a warning about cards that raise suspicions.

Leaders of the group say their role is to help low and moderate income residents participate in the democratic process and it’s up to the board to weed out problematic registrations.

Board Member Robert Frost said the group failed to follow guidelines in its own manual to turn over suspected voter fraud to law enforcement to investigate. Election officials subpoenaed three voters to appear before the Board next week to explain their mulitple registrations.

The list includes a Cuyahoga County resident whose name appears on 22 registration cards submitted in six months.

UPDATE: Looks like we better add Indiana to the list of Democrat chicanery. Seven states so far under investigation. In Lake County, over half of the ACORN-submitted voter registration forms turned out to be fraudulent.

UPDATE: The rabbit hole gets deeper and deeper. Add two more states to ACORN’s ever-growing list of election theft. Looks like Obama taught his fellow “community organizers” well.

Pennsylvania – Thousands of allegedly fake voter registrations by a nationwide organization are being investigated. At least nine states are reviewing voter paperwork, and Allegheny County police are looking into similar accusations.

Employees of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, commonly known as ACORN, are under investigation in Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin since local election officials started noticing irregularities among the thousands of registrations submitted by ACORN.

The ACORN organizer in one state said the organization had no way of checking all registrations.

Missouri – Officials in Missouri, a hard-fought jewel in the presidential race, are sifting through possibly hundreds of questionable or duplicate voter-registration forms submitted by an advocacy group that has been accused of election fraud in other states.

Charlene Davis, co-director of the election board in Jackson County, where Kansas City is, said the fraudulent registration forms came from the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. She said they were bogging down work Wednesday, the final day Missourians could register to vote.

“I don’t even know the entire scope of it because registrations are coming in so heavy,” Davis said. “We have identified about 100 duplicates, and probably 280 addresses that don’t exist, people who have driver’s license numbers that won’t verify or Social Security numbers that won’t verify. Some have no address at all.”

The nonpartisan group works to recruit low-income voters, who tend to lean Democratic. Most polls show Republican presidential candidate John McCain with an edge in bellwether Missouri, but Democrat Barack Obama continues to put up a strong fight.

FBI spokeswoman Bridget Patton said the agency has been in contact with elections officials about potential voter fraud and plans to investigate.
