Good for America = bad for Dems

Posted 31 Jul 2007 in Democrats, Iraq, liberals, victory, war

This just confirms what those of us with sense have known all along: the extreme leftists in the Democrat party are hell-bent on defeat, regardless of the impact on America or Iraq. Just so long as they can obtain/retain power. Positive Report by Petraeus Could Split House Democrats on War House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Monday that a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party’s efforts to press for a timetable to end the war. Clyburn, in an interview with the washingtonpost.com video program PostTalk, said Democrats might be wise to wait for the Petraeus report, scheduled to be delivered in...

Sharia nonsense & The Dark Knight

Posted 30 Jul 2007 in jihadists, war

(scroll down for the cool stuff)I was gonna blog all about the outrage of creeping sharia law in New York, but Michelle Malkin already beat me to the punch. Which of these is a hate crime in America? A) Submerging a crucifix in a jar of urine. B) Burning the American flag. C) Putting a Koran in a toilet. Each is offensive and tasteless in its own way. But only one is a hate crime in the eyes of the law — C) — and 23-year-old Stanislav Shmulevich of Brooklyn faces jail time for it. He’s a Pace University student arrested on Friday on hate-crime charges after he threw a Koran in a toilet at Pace University on two...

Simpsonize yourself

Posted 26 Jul 2007 in pop culture

With The Simpsons Movie opening tomorrow, I had to post something “Simpson-esque.” There are a couple good avatar creators out there where you can create your own Springfield alter-ego. One is at The Simpsons Movie website, the other is Simpsonize Me, where you upload your photo and the website transforms you. Both are worth a look.

Cat predicts deaths in nursing home

Cue the “Twilight Zone” theme. US cat ‘predicts patient deaths’ A US cat that is reportedly able to sense when a nursing home’s residents are about to die is baffling doctors. Oscar has a habit of curling up next to patients at the home in Providence, Rhode Island, in their final hours.  According to the author of a study in the New England Journal of Medicine, the two-year-old cat has been observed to be correct in 25 cases so far. Staff now alert the families of residents when he sits down next to their ailing loved one. “He doesn’t make many mistakes. He seems to understand when patients are about to die,” David Dosa, a professor at Brown University...

Gen. Patton’s new speech

Posted 24 Jul 2007 in military, patriotism, victory, war

Mike Kaminski does a pretty good impersonation of George C. Scott’s voice which, combined with footage from the “Patton” movie yields an address that sounds like it could have come from the man himself. If only we could get a this kind of clear-headed leadership from our elected officials. (h/t: Hot Air) I say we draft him for the Oval Office.

Waffles, anyone?

April 2007: Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday criticized President Bush’s foreign policy, and said if she were president she would do things differently, including beginning diplomatic talks with supposed enemies and sending envoys throughout the world. July 2007: Hillary Clinton pounced on rival Barack Obama on Monday for his willingness to meet with some troublesome world leaders during a Democratic US presidential debate starring a parade of questions posed through YouTube videos. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised at Hillary’s inconsistencies. She learned triangulation from the best.

Dems run from "liberal" label

See, this is what makes me sick. These liberals have the gall to stand there and suggest all this open-borders amnesty, gun confiscation, socialized medicine (even for illegal aliens), and defeat for our military, but are terrified to call themselves what they are. As if the “progressive” label makes their socialist, fascist, defeatist goals any better. Do they really think we’re that stupid not to know what they really are? If you’re gonna be a socialist, at least have the balls to stand up for what you believe and stop trying to put spin on it. I may disagree with you and despise your views because they would rob from me and my family in order to reward the...

The Democrat YouTube debate/spectacle is turning my stomach. So how about something a bit more fun whilst I down some Pepto?

More anti-military hate from the Left

Um, Democrats, sorry to interrupt but your hate is showing again. Might wanna tuck that back in (Little Green Footballs has the whole story.)

Plame’s spotlight extinguished

Posted 20 Jul 2007 in hypocrisy

About damn time. Plame lawsuit dismissed in CIA leak caseFormer CIA operative Valerie Plame lost a lawsuit Thursday that demanded money from Bush administration officials whom she blamed for leaking her agency identity. Plame, the wife of former Ambassador Joseph Wilson, had accused Vice President Dick Cheney and others of conspiring to disclose her identity in 2003. Plame said that violated her privacy rights and was illegal retribution for her husband’s criticism of the administration. U.S. District Judge John D. Bates dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds and said he would not express an opinion on the constitutional arguments.
