Happy Flag Day

This morning on the way to work, I was delighted to hear someone on a talk program reminding us of this day to celebrate Old Glory. So take just a few minutes to think about her today as well as all those who have (and continue to) give their lives to safeguard our precious freedom, of which our flag is a symbol.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Oh, say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
