Drop the charges against "The Dog"
I can’t believe that this case is still pending.
Now, Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff is taking on the cause of “Dog the Bounty Hunter,” Duane Chapman.
Chapman went to Mexico several years ago to catch serial rapist Andrew Luster, heir to the Max Factor fortune, who had jumped bail and fled the United States. Chapman nabbed Luster in Puerto Vallarta and turned him over to the FBI. Luster, accused in over 80 rapes, is now serving 120 years in federal prison. But because bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, Chapman was arrested there. He posted bond and was released, but now is wanted by Mexican authorities for jumping bail.
Lemme see if I have this straight. Dog catches a serial rapist who had fled to Mexico to avoid extradition. The Mexican government, who encourages their citizens to illegally enter the USA, wants to prosecute him for breaking their law against law enforcement?
It’d be funny if it wasn’t so freakin’ ridiculous!
When Mexico issues a statement demanding that all its citizens who are here illegally to return to Mexico, and works with the American government to get them back inside their borders and out of our country, then I think we might consider working with them to slap Dog on the wrist for bounty hunting inside their country.
Until then, their inconsistent enforcement of the law is a joke. And American certainly shouldn’t respect the word of a country that actively works against ours.
The Dog is a good man who brought a CONVICTED rapist to justice. Please sign Dog’s petition (or consider giving to his legal defense fund) and help keep this hero out of a Mexican jail.
