Religion of Peace update: Ashura child abuse
This week was Ashura, a major festival for Shia Muslims that commemorates the martyrdom at Karbala of Ali Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. And they mark this occasion by – get this – slashing open the foreheads of their male children.
Yes, you read that right. They use knives, swords and razorblades to cut open kids’ heads. They do it to themselves as well, of course, and far worse. But I don’t care about that. It’s their mutilation of kids that gets my dander up.
NABATIYEH, Lebanon (AP) — The 6-year-old boy screamed and shook his head to avoid the razor blade. But his father held him firmly as Hajj Khodor parted the boy’s black hair and sliced his forehead three times with the blade.

In the southern Lebanese town of Nabatiyeh, hundreds of nervous young boys — ranging from early teens to toddlers — were ushered by their fathers into a hall hung with black banners and paintings of Hussein’s last moments.Hajj Khodor, a businessman and organizer of the Ashura ceremonies, and several other men wiped blades with alcohol before swiping each boy three or four times on the forehead.
Some boys cried and resisted, but the cutting proceeded.
At least a few Muslims seem to get it.
Hind Abinabi, a 52-year-old Shiite woman and mother of four, said to maim children was not only cruel, but also against the religion.“When the rest of the world is going to the moon, look where these people are — still drawing blood from their heads,” she said.
I’m glad you said it, lady. Because when non-Muslims state the obvious, we’re called “Islamophobes” and racists.

Do you think this kind of abuse would be tolerated if it were any other religion? It’s weird enough to scourge and cut one’s own self as some kind of barbaric worship, but to force children to engage in the practice is sheer depravity.
It’s appalling. And sadly typical of the mindset with which we find ourselves at war. I gotta tell ya, I had a hell of a lot more respect for Islam before I learned so much about it.
Just keep telling yourself that this isn’t mainstream Islam. And that Muslims don’t seek to impose Sha’ria law (and their culture) in America. Yep, ’cause they’re not forcing France, Britain and the rest of Europe to acquiesce to their bizarre demands, are they?

Here’s to hoping that Islam will soon join the rest of the world in the 21st century rather than continuing to insist that the world revert to their brand of 7th century barbarism. But I won’t hold my breath for it.
