Liberal smackdown roundup

I’m starting to feel a little better, so I’ll try to get caught up on the week. There’s almost too much to catalogue it all, but here are a few highlights.

  1. I haven’t yet weighed in on the Marcotte/McEwan affair, because if you’re real quiet, you can hear the sound of John Edwards limping from where he shot his campain in the foot. Hiring such hateful, intolerant (and typical) extremists to moderate his campaign blog demonstrates his poor judgement of character. After all, the dolt ran with John Kerry. It’s nice to see that bloggers called him on it. But it should come as no surprise that Edwards chooses to keep them on to please the Far Leftists that comprise his supporters.

  2. Speaking of the Far Left, the Democrats made a particularly telling choice to have their “prayer” delivered in their winter meeting last week. (Watch the videos here).
    Husham al-Husainy – an extremist who has a long record of support for prominent Islamists at war with America and Israel.

    Al-Husainy’s words before the Democrats – asking God to “help us stop . . . occupation and oppression” – were jarring enough, since he was likely referring to either American soldiers in Iraq or Jews in Israel.

    But his past statements and activity make those words even more ominous.

    Al-Husainy heads the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center mosque in Dearborn, Mich., one of the largest Shiite mosques in North America. He is an open admirer of the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini – under whose rule Americans were held hostage for 444 days.

    During last summer’s Israel-Hezbollah war, al-Husainy led rallies in Dearborn in support of the Lebanese terrorist group. Protesters displayed swastikas as well as anti-American and anti-Semitic posters.

    Once, being a fan of America’s enemies would disqualify someone from a prominent role at Democratic Party events. But the Dems’ opposition to President Bush seems to have changed that. Apparently, they want America to lose at all cost.

  3. And now that the troop surge is well under way, we’ve got al Qaeda on the run. To those Liberals who keep squawking that we’re supposedly losing in Iraq, see the previous post about what you can do.
