300 against the jihadists
I was just gonna post this because it’s cool. But as I thought about it, it occurred to me that this isn’t just a kickass movie trailer. I see in it a lesson on how to deal with Islamic aggression as well. (Yeah, I know I’m reading a LOT into it, but there ya go. I’m weird. Whatcha gonna do?)
Dear President Bush,
Congressman Jack Murtha,
Sentator John Kerry,
Senator Richard Durbin,
Congresswoman Maxine Waters,
Senator Edward Kennedy,
and every other imbicile who agrees with Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan,
Have you seen this yet? You should take a peek at it. I know it’s just a movie trailer, but it’s for a movie about a fight for freedom against oppression. About men whose honor and valor obviously go far beyond anything you can comprehend. Men who knew that evil can’t be bargained with, it must be fought at all cost. Men who didn’t shrink at the casualties of war, who knew that victory and freedom often come at a heavy price.
Pay close attention to the scene where King Leonidas of Sparta deals with the Persian emissary who comes to him with a demand for a tribute of land and water (dhimmitude).
Persian heralds were sent to every state of Greece to demand from each a tribute of earth and water. If the Greeks had yielded to this demand, it would have been a statement that all the land and water of Greece belonged to Persia. Some of the states submitted, others proudly refused. The Spartans threw the herald into a well and told them, “There you will find both earth and water for your master.”
Just ask the Somalians. They’ve just recently demonstrated the way to deal with Islamic aggression: they handed al-Qaeda their asses on a plate.
Yes, we are in the midst of a difficult war. But the odds are firmly in our favor if we can simply have the fortitude to endure. As elected leaders, we need you lead this country and push for victory, not defeat.
Grow a spine and watch this. And maybe, just maybe, you can conduct yourself with honor and call yourself an American without spitting in the face of every soldier who has fought and bled and died for your freedom.
