Ya can’t have it both ways, Libs

Posted 31 Jan 2007 in Democrats, Hillary Clinton, Iraq, Islam, liberals, war

Attention Hillary Clinton, Jack Murtha, Jane Fonda, John Kerry, Code Pinko… oh hell, attention all Democrats and whoever claims to “support the troops but not the war” as well as all you idiots who support this spineless “nonbinding resolution”: the troops see right through your bullshit. And they’re tired of it. Either be for us or have the guts to openly stand with our enemies.(h/t: Blackfive) “I am tired of Democrats saying they are patriotic and then insulting my commander in chief and the way he goes about his job. I am tired of Democrats who tell me they support me, the soldier on the ground, and then tell me the best plan to win this war is with...

Another political ideology test

Posted 31 Jan 2007 in memes, personal

I love stuff like this. It’s not foolproof, of course, but I find it interesting to take quizzes from time to time in order to see how my political views may shift. I tend to test pretty consistently as slightly right-of-center, although today’s test shows that I’ve slid a bit further toward the center (previous quiz results here). Here are my two most recent outcomes. Seem pretty accurate to me. Give it a try, your mileage may vary.   You are a Social Moderate (55% permissive) and an… Economic Conservative (65% permissive) You are best described as a:  Centrist You exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness.   Link: The Politics Test...

Antiwar left comes full circle.

Sad. It was only a matter of time before they discarded the “we support the troops but not the mission” charade. Lefties are back to spitting at our soldiers. (h/t: Allah Pundit) I wonder when they’ll revert to calling our troops “baby-killers” again, too?—Speaking of Democrat disloyalty, guess who was hobknobbing with the former president of Iran this weekend, calling America a “pariah“? When this guy talks about “duplicity and hypocrisy,” he really walks the talk.

Religion of Peace update: Islamic "honor"

Yet another sad “honor killing”, this one in so-called “moderate” Jordan.(h/t: Anti-Strib) AMMAN, Jordan – A Jordanian man fatally shot his 17-year-old daughter whom he suspected of having sex despite a medical exam that proved her chastity, an official said Thursday. The man surrendered to police hours after the killing, saying he had done it for family honor. A state forensic pathologist, who works at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine in Amman where an autopsy was performed, said in a phone interview that the girl had run away from home several times for unknown reasons. Weeks ago, the girl had returned home from a family protection clinic after doctors had vouched for her virginity and the father had...

Democrat name brouhaha

I think this is hillarious! Those of you who have read this blog for a while may have noticed that I never refer to the “Democratic” party, choosing instead to refer to them more properly as the Democrat party. Republicans belong to the Republican Party, Democrats should belong to the Democrat Party, easy squeezy. I’ve been doing this for many years because the subtle demagoguery of the word “democratic” bugs me. Similar to how Dems continually couch their pet issues as being “for the children”, they figure “who could be against democracy?” Sadly, I think it works all too often. People descibe themselves as Democrats, not because they believe in the principles (ha!) of the Democrat party – if...

More good news from Iraq

Posted 25 Jan 2007 in Iraq, terrorism, war

From the “The Only Good Terrorist is a Dead Terrorist” file: Contrary to what the Democrats (and the MSM) want you to believe, there’s been a lot to smile about in the past few weeks. Our soldiers continue to capture and kill the jihadis and insurgent scum in Iraq: 100 al-Qaeda and Sunni terrorists killed, 50 captured 30 militants were killed and 27 captured 600 Sadr fighters captured 93 al-Qaeda killed and 57 captured Top aide to al-Sadr captured 420 Shiite Sadr militiamen arrested 5 Iranian terrorists captured And, on some occasions, US forces even send them straight to hell in tiny little pieces. Like here, where the Madhi Army are getting their asses pounded with Hydra 70 rockets....

Religion of Peace update: Driving for tardos

It’s a good thing so many jihadis are so irretrievably stupid. (h/t: Ace) A 28-year-old Muslim from India has been taken into custody in Rhode Island after a truck driving school became suspicious of his efforts to obtain a license to drive trucks with hazardous material. Upon appearing in court today in Boston to answer immigration charges, Mohammed Yusef Mullawala was denied bond pending a removal hearing scheduled for next Tuesday, Jan. 30. Federal Immigration Judge Matthew D’Angelo said he found Mullawala’s court responses not to be creditable and ruled that he posed a danger to the community and was himself a flight risk. Rhode Island State Police said Mohammed Yusef Mullawala came to the United States on a...

The FMP recap on SOTU

Posted 24 Jan 2007 in George W. Bush, politics

I was mostly unmoved by President Bush’s speech last night. I mean, it was fairly good and he had his moments, but I was sad to see him move so far into bipartisanship (a Democrat code word for “do what we say”) and not get far enough into the tough words all Americans need to hear at this critical time. I was glad to see the President concentrate on domestic issues first, keeping the Iraq hot potato for last. That might be a good thing, given that so many people shut the President whenever the “I” word is mentioned, but I do think our national security takes top priority over civil entitlement squabbles. Still, at least he spent equal...

Twitter experiment

Posted 24 Jan 2007 in pop culture, technology, Twitter

Ever since the 2007 Macworld Expo two weeks ago – where Steve Jobs announced the new iPhone – the entire Mac community’s been buzzing. Not just about the latest new gadget, but also about cool new games and software that gets announced. One of the hot new apps out there now is called Twitter. It’s kind of like micro-blogging, allowing you to update whatever you’re doing at a given moment with friends, family, or the world at large. You can use it to tell things like what you’re snacking on, your current interests, cool new websites you find or just plain goofy nonsense! I’m gonna be giving it a shot over the next few weeks and find out if...

Heroes vs Jack Bauer

Posted 22 Jan 2007 in pop culture

Ok, we all know that Jack could easily kick the crap out of ALL the Heroes if they went head-to-head à la Jack Bauer vs. Chuck Norris. But tonight, the two greatest dramas currently on television are competing for the same time slot. I was excited to see last week’s premiere of 24, and have been just itching to see the return of Heroes. If you’re not up on the show, there’s still time! Watch a 2-minute or 13-minute season recap here , or you can watch all the episodes in streaming video.
