*sigh*

I’m so A.D.D. sometimes.

I’m sitting here on the sofa, trying to rest and recuperate. And I’m reading blogs and watching Rocky III on TV, in typical multitasking fashion. Walk with me…

Boys Wear Pants runs down a list of some of the best shows on TV.

• On a more serious note, that Iraq “Study Group” is like some sad joke. It’s nothing more than a thinly disguised attempt to get America to agree to withdrawl and defeat in Iraq. A bunch of insipid remarks on the obvious (things like “no country in the region wants a chaotic Iraq”) tied to recommendations for us to tuck tail and run. Or hold hands with terrorist nations and sing kumbayah. That explains why Democrats and the Islamic Jihad likes it so much! Thanks, ISG, for encouraging our enemies. It’s amazing to me, especially so close to Pearl Harbor Day, that so many people in our country can stomach the idea of surrender against a foe who wants our complete annihilation. There is no shortage of bloggers out there who can offer you more in-depth and blow-by-blow analysis of the ISG, but until I get to feeling more verbose, that won’t be me. In the meantime, I recommend you take a look at Blogfather Hugh Hewitt for several good articles about the group’s “findings.”

This report has, for an instant, put the president on his knees. As the MasterCard commercial would put it, for a lot of liberals that’s priceless.

I’ve been a frequent critic of the way the White House has conducted this war. I especially think the administration’s ongoing denial regarding the dangers posed by Iran, Syria and the other Islamists in the region is both scandalous and dangerous. The time has come for the president to begin acting like a wartime president and lead his people where they need to go.

In short, the president is going to have to rise off his knees and begin fighting. Even if it dismays our friends on the left.

• Jonathan at Crush Liberalism takes a good look inside my heart and says what I’m feeling even better than I could. By that, I’m meaning how we Americans seem to have forgotten Pearl Harbor and the hard lessons learned by an entire generation of Americans in World War 2. Go read it, y’all.

• Liberals have taken ample opportunity to cry about their supposed loss of civil liberties under the Patriot Act due to wiretapping of terrorists’ communications. But now, we’ve got a real attack being launched against our freedom. Scumsucking lawyers in Washington, DC (center of gun control laws AND high murder rates) are trying anew to legally dismantle the Second Amendment. I bet we’ll be seeing the ACLU step in to defend our Constitutional rights any day now, won’t we?

Blogmeister Pam has a few good words about ex-President’s Clinton advising that we handle Iran the way he handled North Korea. And we all know how well that worked out. How do people take that assclown seriously?

• Speaking of assclowns, Pete Townshend is now claiming to have been a Muslim mystic in a previous life. That might explain his penchant for child porn. He’s just following Mohammad’s example!

Interestingly enough, watching Rocky III today has me thinking about how similar the storyline is to the current developments in Iraq especially as it relates to the ISG, Democrats, Islamic opinion, and our possibilities for victory. In the movie, Rocky has his ass beat by challenger Clubber Lang because he didn’t take the threat seriously and went into the fight half-heartedly. And, as might be expected when facing a tough, hungry opponent, the results were painfully obvious. Our champion was defeated. It wasn’t until Rocky took some time to think about who he is and what he wanted that he was able to go back into the ring with a new attitude and determination. And this time, the results were again painfully obvious, but in the opposite direction. As stupid and shallow as my analogy may be, I think it works. We, as a nation, really need to figure out who we are and what we want. I think America wants to win (I KNOW our soldiers do!), but I think too many people have been pussified and wimped out by years of comfort. And if we wanna win this war against the jihadists, we need to make up our mind and quit mucking around. Get tough, get in there and do what it takes to win.

Geez, we need a big dose of General Patton, Teddy Roosevelt, and The Duke.
