Six snakes on a plane?
6 Imams Removed From Twin Cities Flight
Six Muslim imams were removed from a US Airways flight at Minneapolis- St. Paul International Airport on Monday and questioned by police for several hours before being released, a leader of the group said. The six were among passengers who boarded Flight 300, bound for Phoenix, around 6:30 p.m., airport spokesman Pat Hogan said.
A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. She said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused.
“They took us off the plane, humiliated us in a very disrespectful way,” said Omar Shahin, of Phoenix.
I guess they should have been humiliated in a more respectful way.
Because it was REAL respectful, the way these made everyone else on the plane nervous by doing things like asking to change seats, and chanting “Allah, Allah, Allah.” Yeah, that’s the way to help everyone better understand Islam, guys. Nice one.
These six men were intentionally acting suspicious. And were treated accordingly.
In the gate area before boarding the aircraft bound for Phoenix, Arizona, the six Muslims “were praying loudly and spouting some kind of anti-US rhetoric regarding the war in Iraq and Saddam Hussein,” said Hogan, citing a police investigation.A flight attendant thought it was “curious” that the six men were asking for seat-belt extensions which they did not seem to need, as the extensions are given only to larger or obese passengers, Hogan said.
One of the men also indicated “it was necessary to go to whatever measures necessary to obey all that is set out in the Koran.”
The six men were released after five hours of questioning by the Federal Bureau of Investigation ( FBI), the US Marshals Service and the Secret Service, Hogan told AFP.
“No charges were filed. The case is closed,” Hogan said.
I don’t know if these imams were intentionally trying to scare everyone, but it sure looks that way. And it wouldn’t be the first time an angry Muslim acted out. Just ask Khaled.
Khaled and three of his companions had gone to New York for several days in January. He told of how uncomfortable his trip up to NYC had been. He felt like he was being watched, and thought he was the victim of racial profiling.Khaled and his friends were pretty unhappy about it, and while in New York, they came up with a plan to “teach a lesson” to the passengers and crew. You can imagine the story Khaled told. He described how he and his friends whispered to each other on the flight, made simultaneous visits to the restroom, and generally tried to “spook” the other passengers. He laughed when he described how several women were in tears, and one man sitting near him was praying.
The others in the room thought the story was quite amusing, judging from the laughter. The imam stood up and told the group that this was a kind of peaceful civil disobedience that should be encouraged, and commended Khaled and his friends for their efforts.
Yeah, nice work. Gee, I wonder why Americans get suspicious of Muslims who act suspiciously?
I can think of about 2,973 reasons.
Of course, CAIR immediately got involved with this Minneapolis case, basically shaking a finger at all Americans and trying to shame us into complicity. I hope, for the sake of all Americans, that it doesn’t work. These men got exactly what they deserved and CAIR really needs to keep their noses out of this one. Do they really believe that a plane full of passengers would willingly inconvenience themselves for several hours just to rub it in the face of a few imams? Puh-leeze. The people on the plane feared for their lives. And with good reason.
Three of them stood and said their normal evening prayers together on the plane, as 1.7 billion Muslims around the world do every day, Shahin said. He attributed any concerns by passengers or crew to ignorance about Islam.
Or, one could argue that it was the imams who were ignorant, acting completely oblivious to the people around them and inconsiderate of all the rest of the passengers. Why didn’t these dolts simply have their prayers before leaving for the airport? It takes a real moron to not realize the state of alertness nowadays, particularly in air travel. I mean, geez, if I get on a plane and take out a lighter and burn my sneaker a bit, I’d expect everyone to freak out. News flash: acting in ways that make you look like a terrorist are gonna get you treated like one.
“I never felt bad in my life like that,” he said. “I never. Six imams. Six leaders in this country. Six scholars in handcuffs. It’s terrible.”
Yeah, it’s terrible that six imams would act like rowdy schoolboys and intentionally arouse suspicion of themselves as possible terrorists. Wise up, dumbass. You’re not gonna PC your way outta this.
They got what they deserve. Which is to be pulled off the flight and treated with suspicion due to their actions.
is it just me, or does it seem that it’d be all too easy for a real terrorist group to pull off a feint using tactics like this, and then attempt to PC everyone into silence in order to set the stage for a later attack?
Maybe it’s just me…
