Catching up

It probably looks like I’m sulking since I haven’t blogged much this week. But t’ain’t so. It’s mostly because I’m off from work this week and have had better things to do than sit inside on the computer. Rest assured, I’ll catch up on the political world soon. Besides, how much could things change in just one day. ;)

My youngest daughter’s birthday was Tuesday, and I went way overboard with gifts and decorations (especially since I was already pretty much outta cash this week). But we all had a big time.

I’ve also been taking care of my sweetheart. She’s been dealing with a nasty sinus infection for the past few days and feeling pretty worn down. Luckily, we were able to get her in to see the doc yesterday morning, so she’s on the mend now.

We had a mini adventure yesterday and rode the train down to the Dallas Zoo. Turns out, we got there about an hour before it closed, but we weren’t about to turn back without having seen the animals. We wound up having a great time. Big shock there, eh?

And as boring as it seems, I’ve been getting some much-needed chores done with my time this week. Most notably, sorting through my closet and getting rid of clothes that I either wouldn’t want to wear anymore or just plain don’t fit.

deadreaper.jpg Aside from all that, I was feeling real creative yesterday so I started work on a new picture. I’m real happy with the way it’s turning out so far. I did all the drawing and linework last night, scanned it in today and will start painting in the color later tonight. I’ll post the finished piece as soon as it’s done.
