The end of CBGB

IMG_4853.JPG traci posted a good one yesterday about the history and final days of CBGB, New York’s home of punk and “underground” rock since 1973. Lots of great pics from the good ‘ol days. Sadly, the club is going under, its property owners choosing not to renew the famous club’s lease. And unfortunately, the club’s owner is choosing to relocate from The Bowery to… Las Vegas. Yes, folks, the grungy club where originality was prized over musical technique is moving to the home of glitz, greed, and superficiality.
