Gitmo’s "Spanish Inquisition"

Posted 22 Sep 2006 in John McCain, liberals, terrorism

With Geneva Convention protections now being offered to terrorists who don’t abide by the Convention anyway, the only interrogation techniques left available to America will be those used in the Spanish Inquisition.

Fetch the comfy chair!

UPDATE: Jonathan’s got a good post about interrogation techniques that have successfully gotten information out of all 14 high-value al-Qaeda leaders. And it got me thinking about waterboarding and other methods of coersion being used (slapping, being put in a cold room, being forced to listen to hours of rap music, etc).

I want McCain and all the libs who are against interrogating these terrorists to answer me one question:

Say al Qaeda was planning another attack, and your entire family could be spared by information that was gleaned by waterboarding some terrorist scumbag, would you still object to the interrogation techniques and thus sacrifice the lives of your family, all on principle of not treating terrorist captives with the required harshness during questioning? Would you really stand back and allow your family to be slaughtered just so the murderer doesn’t have to be made uncomfortable?

(Actually, I have LOTS of questions like this for liberals, but let’s start with this one.)
