Double standards
I saw this story on the morning news and it struck me as kinda odd: Man crashes in a lake, escaping the vehicle but allowing his female companion to drown.
No, it’s not what you think. Remember, it’s a story from today’s news.
Missing pilot in 1982 crash arrested
Jerry Ambrozuk — who disappeared after the August, 1982, crash that killed 18-year-old Dianne Babcock of Vancouver, B.C. — was later found to have escaped the rented plane he was piloting before it sank to the bottom of Little Bitterroot Lake in Montana.Investigators concluded that the crash may have been planned and that Ms. Babcock’s death was probably a premeditated killing
Somebody remind me how this is ANY different from Chappaquiddick? And why Ted Kennedy never had to face negligent homicide charges like this man will?
Oh, silly me. I forgot, Kennedy’s a rich politician from a super-rich family of privilege.
Hey, maybe Ambrozuk can get a suspended sentence for the lesser charge of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, just like Teddy.
The dichotomy isn’t too much different from the way Li’l Kim recently got out of prison where she served a sentence for perjury, while President Clinton never spent a single day behind bars for his conviction for the same crime.
