Fundraising boobs

Posted 29 Sep 2006 in cancer

With all the recent furor over bloggers showing their boobs in a blatant play of tits-for-hits, I’d like to present boobs for a better cause. Yes, folks, it’s that time of year again. Time for the Fifth Annual Blogger Boobie-Thon! If you were a reader here last year, you probably remember. For those of you who are new, the concept is simple. From October 1-7, bloggers from across the globe can submit pictures of bare or covered breasts to raise money for breast cancer causes. (If you’d like to participate, submit a picture of your rack post-haste!) C’mon, it’s for a great cause! Really! Founded in 2002 by Florida blogger Robyn Pollman, the Boobie-Thon has grown into a well-known...

Male restroom etiquette

Posted 29 Sep 2006 in humor, pop culture

For guys who may need a refresher, for girls who wonder what the heck goes on the men’s room, I present this vid as a public service. The animation looks a lot like The Sims. But it’s a lot of fun. And pretty much spot on.

4,000 dead terrorists is a bad thing?

Posted 28 Sep 2006 in Iraq, jihadists, terrorism, war

From the Associated (with terrorists) Press: (h/t: Dread Pundit Bluto) The new leader of al-Qaida in Iraq said in an audio message posted on a Web site Thursday that more than 4,000 foreign insurgent fighters have been killed in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. It was believed to be the first major statement from insurgents in Iraq about their losses. “The blood has been spilled in Iraq of more than 4,000 foreigners who came to fight,” said the man, who identified himself as Abu Hamza al- Muhajir _ also known as Abu Ayyub al-Masri _ the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq. The voice could not be independently identified. I’m not so sure on those numbers, since there...

Why the Internet rocks

Posted 28 Sep 2006 in humor

Every once in a while, you stumble across something online that brings a smile to your face and reminds you of how cool the Internet really is. And no, I’m not talking about porn. Those of you who read here regularly have probably figured out how much I love YouTube (especially for funny stuff like this). Well, I found something today that brings back some good memories of childhood. I’m talking about Sesame Street. Back before political correctness took over. Classic animated shorts like King Minus, the Ladybug Picnic, the orange that sings “Carmen”, the Pinball Counting song, and that cool little 1-2-3 ball that rolls on the miniature coaster track. There’s more than enough stuff out there in...

Take this quiz and find out. (shamelessly stolen from Blogmeister USA) You’re walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock .40 calibre, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do? Republican’s Answer: Read more “Are You a Republican, a Democrat, or a Southerner?”

Uptight parents get good teacher punished

Posted 26 Sep 2006 in education, stupidity

Some people’s ignorance knows no bounds. This one has me nearly speechless. But only nearly, luckily for you. Teacher Punished After Field Trip ComplaintsA school field trip to the Dallas Museum of Art may have cost a Frisco fifth-grade teacher her job. After some parents complained that their children saw nude sculpture and paintings, the school district decided to put teacher Sydney McGee on paid administrative leave until next spring. And, they’ve decided not to renew her teaching contract next year. McGee says the school approved the field trip in advance, and parents were required to sign permission slips for their children. McGee, who has 28 years of teaching experience, says she wanted to treat the children she’s taught...

Tea Partay

This one is just TOO funny. Turns out it’s not a spoof, it’s an extended commercial for a new product called Smirnoff Raw Tea. Yo yo yo, jus’ kippin’ it rill, dog!

Clinton’s newest finger-wag

Posted 25 Sep 2006 in Bill Clinton, Democrats, liberals, stupidity, terrorism

So, former President Clinton came unhinged (again) this weekend. If you watched the news or any of the Sunday morning talking head pundit shows, you probably already saw the Liar-In-Chief at his best worst in his interview with Chris Wallace. (Full transcript here.) One of the big debates now is whether his conspiracy-rant was contrived or a spontaneous reaction to being cornered with no answer to give to the legitimate question “why didn’t you do more, connect the dots and put out of business?” Personally, I don’t think Clinton ever does anything public or political that hasn’t been thought out and planned in advance. I think his subject-changing invective was a last ditch move, but I do...

Movie trailer: 300

Posted 22 Sep 2006 in movies, pop culture, war

Frank Miller’s got a new movie. This one is based on his graphic novel, “300″. It’s about the Persian-Greco war – specifically the Battle of Thermopylae – where 300 Spartans stood against a Persian force numbering in the hundreds of thousands. Damn, this is gonna be good! —UPDATE: Found a new link to the trailer here.
