Religion of Peace update: Muslims hate Freddy Mercury
This one made me too angry not to say anything about it.
The Jawa Report’s got a good post about some Muslims who are protesting Freddy Mercury’s birthday.
In a strongly worded letter to the semi-autonomous Tanzanian archipelago’s culture ministry, a group of conservative Muslims said plans to honour the lead singer of the supergroup Queen at a gala bash next month must be stopped. (more)

And I never realized Zanzibar was home to Islam’s intolerance. But it’s nice to know now.
Funny, I’ve been a fan of Queen since the 70s and don’t remember them ever discussing their religion, let alone saying anything bad about Islam. Yet those Zanzibar tardos seem to feel the need to denigrate the memory of a tremendously talented singer simply because he made choices they wouldn’t have? Nice.
Instead of protesting against someone who wasn’t a Muslim and didn’t even try to associate himself with Islam, how about if these paragons of tolerance just don’t use any Queen songs in their next pro-Muslim ad campaign?
