"Muslim Fun Day" bombs… go figure

Islamic comedy just seems to write itself. This is classic, via al-Reuters! (And blatantly stolen from Texas Rainmaker)

LONDON (Reuters) – Britain’s biggest theme park has called off the country’s first “National Muslim Fun Day” because of lack of interest, the park said Wednesday.

Alton Towers in central England was to open on September 17 for Muslims — with halal food, a strict dress code and prayer areas.

Yeah, that’s some big fun there!

Music, gambling and alcohol were to be banned for the day and theme park rides such as “Ripsaw,” “Corkscrew” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” all segregated by sex.

But the park said the event’s organizers, Islamic Leisure, who rented the park for the day and were marketing the event, had called it off due to “insufficient ticket sales.”

The words “Islamic” and “Leisure” in the same phrase together is funny enough as it is. But when you’ve got 1,536,015 Muslims in England and Wales, and you have insufficient ticket sales for Muslim Fun Day, something’s up. Well, Jonathan over at Crush Liberalism dug up some more details of the event. I don’t see why it bombed with Muslims. Oh wait…

As expected, al-Reuters gets it wrong. Our thieves on the payroll investigative journalists here at the Crush Liberalism Objective World News Service (CLOWNS) have obtained an internal memo from the Alton Towers theme park that detail the problems inherent with a “Muslim Fun Day”:
FROM: Ilene Left, Park Program Coordinator
TO: Demi Tude, park president
RE: Problems with “Muslim Fun Day”

Ms. Tude:

Our office received many complaints from potential park customers (likely American bigots, or those horrendous Jews) who said they refused to go to Alton Towers until the following “offensive” festivities were removed:

  • The infidel head-tossing contest.
  • The “Avoid the Pig or Lose the Grapes Virgins” ride.
  • The “self-detonation for distance” contest.
  • “Pin the tail on the Jew boy.”
  • “Whack-a-Zionist.”
  • “Beat the non-burqaed wench with a Singapore cane.”
