A bit of clarification

I feel the need to write a little something else today because I wanted to be VERY clear.

I don’t like President Bush.

Those of you who are relatively new readers may be surprised to read that. But if you’ve read this blog for a while, you’ve seen that I don’t always agree with our President. I’ve written him many letters, some of which I’ve published here.

I think Bush is wrong on several issues; gay marriage and immigration immediately spring to mind.

He spends like a liberal and I hate what he’s done to the deficit.

He’s made several big mistakes (“Brownie, you’re doing a heckuva job”). But show me the President – or person, for that matter – who hasn’t.

Personally, I cringe whenever he speaks in public.

But overall, I respect the man. I believe him to be of good character. And I respect the office of the President.

And so, I support President Bush and tend to give him the benefit of the doubt unless I see proof otherwise. Time is proving that faith to be well-placed.
