With so much going on in the news right now, and so much going on at work, I don’t have time to take on each issue in the depth I would normally. So here’s my abridged soundoff on this week’s top stories so far…

Cynthia McKinney’s slapfest: This ignorant, arrogant, racist bitch needs to be charged with assault, just like anyone else would be for striking a police officer. She apparently has forgotten that as an elected official, she’s a public SERVANT, not a ruler. And her pathetic, politically-motivated, half-assed apology doesn’t fix anything. I’m familiar with this lunatic from back when I lived in Atlanta. All I can say is, I hope this burns what’s left of her political career.

Scooter Libby leaks again: I imagine Liberals around the country are wetting their collective pants, hoping that this will somehow be proven true – that President Bush personally authorized Libby to leak Valerie Plame’s identity. Hrmm. We’ll see. It sounds like a CYA on Libby’s part.

Tom DeLay steps down: The guy was instrumental in helping Republicans get elected and take the majority in both houses of Congress. But he did the right thing by resigning amidst all this scandal. I need to read more about the guy; I don’t know yet whether or not he’s actually guilty or perhaps has simply been targeted by Democrat smear tactics. Either way, it’s sad for him to have to go under these circumstances. Especially since it seems disgraced Democrats will typically hold on and fight in the PR arena until the public’s attention moves to the next hot button. I think he started off as a powerful member of the Republicans who may have lost his focus (as they ALL seem to do once they get up there to Washington). But the fact that he was so hated and reviled by Democrats just goes to show how effective he was.

Katie Couric is CBS’s new evening news anchor: Puh-leeze.

NBC tries to stage NASCAR racism: This one is predictable, but still pretty sickening. NBC was gonna send Arab/Muslim-looking men into NASCAR races with hidden cameras to capture any anti-Arab/Muslim reactions. Pathetic. Didn’t these Liberals learn anything from Dan Rather’s “let’s create the news we want” mistakes?

- Wear a Halliburton company polo shirt to the Kos Kidz annual blogmeet
- PUBLISH CARTOONS WITH MOHAMMED IN THEM

Gee, I wonder if we’d see some racist/intolerant responses? That’s some news fer ya!
