March of the Illegal Immigrants

Via Reuters:

Tens of thousands of Mexican and other immigrants held a massive rally in Chicago on Friday to protest proposed changes to U.S. immigration laws.

Waving flags and carrying signs reading “We’re people, not criminals” and “Working hands do not deserve handcuffs,” they streamed on foot into the downtown area, overwhelming a square at the federal court house where the rally was held.
Chicago police said from 75,000 to 100,000 people were involved in the march and rally.

Yes, it’s true, they are all people. But the illegal people are, by definition, CRIMINALS.

Therein lies the debate. I know many illegal aliens work very hard. But that doesn’t change the fact that they’re breaking the law.

I’m surprised all these people are demanding anything, being that they’re here illegally. If they wish to have a voice in what happens in American government and the laws it passes, THEN LET THEM COME HERE LEGALLY AND BECOME U.S. CITIZENS!

Ian at Expose The Left poses the question of the day:

Why are the police NOT arresting these people and sending them back to their home country?

Well, at least these folks aren’t burning businesses and killing people. Wrong religion. Hrmph.

In any case, if President Bush were truly serious about “homeland security,” our borders wouldn’t be so porous and we wouldn’t even be having this problem.
