An open letter to President Bush

Every once in a while, I get irked enough to write to President Bush (I bet I’m on some NSA “keep a close eye on this smartass” list). Jim Kuttner beat me to the punch on this one. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I think the gist is correct so I’m just gonna reprint his letter here in case any of you wish to copy and paste, then send it to the White House… (h/t: Freedom Folks) To George W Bush, President Of The United States, I am disappointed in your statements concerning immigration reform and illegal immigrants in general. You were elected by the citizens of the United States to protect our interests. Not the...

Rapist thinks it’s not fair to be arrested

Posted 31 Mar 2006 in illegal immigration

Another case where an illegal immigrant is over here in America, breaking the law in more ways than one: FORT WORTH – An illegal immigrant in federal custody since his arrest early this month on traffic warrants was arrested Thursday in connection with a string of rapes and other sexual attacks dating back to December 2004, police said. His hands and legs shackled, Jose Carrillo, 30, was transported from federal custody Thursday afternoon and arrested by Fort Worth police on warrants in two of the Fort Worth rapes. Police say DNA evidence linked Carrillo to the two attacks, plus a rape in Arlington. When asked by reporters if he committed the offenses, Carrillo said no, adding that he has...

The ignorant and the illegal

Posted 29 Mar 2006 in ignorance, illegal immigration

Everyone else is blogging about this, as it’s one of the biggest stories of the week. But ‘ol R_V has been working his buns clean off, so you get the Reader’s Digest version for today. Rest assured, I’ll have MUCH more to say about this issue. The past week has been marked by several demonstrations and protests put on by those who oppose the idea of tightening border security and making it a felony to be an illegal alien within the U.S. Seems a slam dunk to me. If you break the law and come here and leech off our system, we’re gonna stop you. That’s what our laws are for: stopping wrongdoers and punishing those who break the...

Religion of Peace update: questions for CAIR

Here are lot of the same questions I’ve been asking about Islam, only this time they’ve been assembled by the editorial board of Investor’s Business Daily. I wonder if we’ll ever get honest answers from CAIR? (h/t: Michelle Malkin) What better time for CAIR and other Muslim leaders to step up, cut through the politically correct fog and provide factual answers to the questions that give so many non-Muslims pause? Generally speaking, those questions focus on whether the Quran does indeed promote violence against non-Muslims, and how many of the terrorists’ ideas — about the violent jihad, the self-immolation, the kidnappings, even the beheadings — come right out of the text? But even more specifically: Is Islam the only...

Are Liberals ready to apologize to Bush?

Funny and serious with traci

traci made a very funny post today and I wanted to share it here because I thought she was a damn hoot. while listening to a podcast of CFR (Camp Freddy Radio) today, i was amazed because my OTHER boyfriend, Dave Navarro, actually had all the answers one might need to solve all the long, drawn-out secrets to one of my favorite love-it-hate-it tv shows, Lost… but then realized it is all futility.. dave, so he says, is actually about to “remove the show” from his tivo.. he says we will never find out what the deal is with “balloon guy”.. he goes on to ask about Hurley – how he started off as the “oh my god, the...

Virtual Moonbat as smart as the real thing!

Posted 24 Mar 2006 in humor, liberals

This is just too much fun! Try chatting with the Autorantic Virtual Moonbat and tell me it doesn’t sound exactly like the extremists on the Left like Cindy Sheehan, Jay Bennish or Randi Rhodes. It’d be funnier if it wasn’t already so pathetic. Or is it the other way around? Either way, this entertaining bit of absurdity comes courtesy of Sean Gleeson. (h/t: Mike’s America)

Religion of Peace update: Even "moderate Muslims" love beheading?

Posted 24 Mar 2006 in intolerance, Islam, Religion of Peace update

According to CNN, this guy is one of those “moderate” Muslims we keep hearing about: Senior Muslim clerics are demanding that an Afghan man on trial for converting from Islam to Christianity be executed, warning that if the government caves in to Western pressure and frees him, they will incite people to “pull him into pieces.”… “Rejecting Islam is insulting God. We will not allow God to be humiliated. This man must die,” said cleric Abdul Raoulf, who is considered a moderate and was jailed three times for opposing the Taliban before the hard-line regime was ousted in 2001…. But three Sunni preachers and a Shiite one interviewed by The Associated Press in four of Kabul’s most popular mosques...

Ungrateful activist punks

I’m too overwhelmed at work today to write a decent blog entry today, but I found a must-read for you to enjoy in the meantime. (via Michelle Malkin) TALK ABOUT UNGRATEFUL Our troops teamed with British forces to rescue three left-wing, anti-war activists kidnapped by terrorists in Iraq. Those freed were Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32; and Briton Norman Kember, 74. The men, who were members of the Chicago-based Christian Peacemaker Teams, were kidnapped on Nov. 26 along with their American colleague, Tom Fox, 54, whose body was found earlier this month. Reader Jen M. took at look at the Christian Peacemaker Teams website for the group’s statement on the rescue and she e-mailed me...

Religion of Peace update: "little pieces" edition

Ever since 9-11, advocates of Islam have been working overtime to convince the world that it’s only the Islamofascists who are misinterpreting the Qu’ran and distorting the words of the prophet Mohammed. They say that it’s only the radicals who are intolerant of all other religions and want to murder every so-called infidel who won’t convert to Islam. They say “mainstream” Muslims are peaceful. And that Islam is a “religion of peace.” Then news like this breaks out. And blows their story all to hell. The Chicago Tribune reported earlier this week: Abdul Rahman told his family he was a Christian. He told the neighbors, bringing shame upon his home. But then he told the police, and he could...
