Secret? What secret?

This week, the Washington Post broke a huge story about supposedly top-secret CIA prisons around the world being used to hold terrorist suspects.

Nov. 2, 2005 — The CIA has operated a secret prison system where more than 100 terror suspects have been locked up since Sept. 11.

The so-called “black sites” — which were so covert that only a handful of government officials even knew about them until today — operated over the past four years in eight different countries, including Thailand, Afghanistan and several Eastern European states, according to a story first reported today in the Washington Post.

(insert sound of record being scratched) Wait just a minute.

If these prisons even exist, they were top-secret, classified information. UNTIL THE WASHINGTON POST RAN THE STORY.

And recently, there’s been all this outrage over “Scooter” Libby supposedly outing a CIA agent. Her status was supposedly top-secret, classified information. (even though Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Senator Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) outed a CIA agent back in April but have yet to be held accountable for it)

But, of course, there’s no Liberal bias in the media, right?

Is anyone else paying attention?
