San Francisco chooses victimhood
I was so surprised to see last week that a majority of voters in San Francisco decided that they could do without part of the Bill Of Rights. That they would rather approve mandatory gun control/confiscation, disregard the Second Amendment, and be disarmed as a city than to allow law-abiding citizens their Constitutional right to own firearms.
I guess they think THIS law will have an effect on criminals that all the other laws have lacked? The criminals ignore our other laws, but for some magic reason they’ll happily comply with this one?
We have hundreds of gun control measures on the books, and gun crime continues to escalate. And in cities where gun ownership is outlawed, like Washington DC or Chicago, crime goes through the roof. After all, it’s easier to prey on unarmed victims than trying to guess who may have the firepower to effectively resist.
Ironically, this anti-gun measure passed on the anniversary of Kristallnacht, the infamous anti-Jewish pogram in Nazi Germany made possibly by the Weimar Republic’s gun laws and the Nazi Weapons Law of 1938. The Nazis were real big on gun control. And why wouldn’t they be? They wouldn’t want to have to deal with an armed population. It’s so much easier to simply have everyone give up their guns before pulling off oppressive and draconian policies. Here’s one of the best explanations for gun control that I’ve heard so far:

All law abiding citizens (except for the special classes of citizens…security guards and police) will have to surrender their handguns by April. It is unclear when criminals will surrender their handguns.
