Hillary smacks Saint Sheehan
Here’s proof that the Democrats eat their own.
You probably already read about how Cindy Sheehan decided to head to New York and ply her anti-war protest malarchy there, figuring it’d resonate with the highly liberal city.
And she probably would’ve been correct. But she made one small mistake. Small, in the way that sumo wrestlers are svelte.
She decided to call Hillary on the carpet for her support of the war in Iraq.
She’s publicly noted the fact that Senator Hillary Clinton voted to authorize President Bush to use force in Iraq and – like most Senate Democrats – has done little to bring the troops home. Quite the contrary, Hillary has filed legislation calling for more troops (in her attempt to triangulate to the right for her 2008 Presidential bid).
On Monday, the NY Times reported:
Speaking in front of more than 500 supporters in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, Ms. Sheehan, speaking of Senator Clinton, said, “She knows that the war is a lie but she is waiting for the right time to say it.”
Then, as the crowd cheered, she issued a challenge to Senator Clinton, saying, “You say it or you are losing your job.”
Shortly thereafter, the wrath of Hurricane Hillary came crashing down on the levee known as Cindy Sheehan, as the New York police shut her down and arrested the organizer of the demonstration in Union Square, Manhattan for public speaking without the proper permit.
Pure speculation on my part, but whaddya wanna bet that the NYPD didn’t just decide on their own to go rain on Sheehan’s parade?

You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger
And you don’t mess around with Hillary

UPDATE: This post was edited to correct the mention of who was actually arrested. I regret the error. Thank you to the “fanatic” Leftie who pointed it out. But bottom line, Sheehan still got shut down by the NYPD, which was the point of this post. So bite me.
UPDATE: Cindy Sheehan finally managed to get herself arrested during her anti-war protest in DC. So bite me again.
