Hurricane brings out the cockroaches

Posted 30 Aug 2005 in crime, liberals

Again, we see some of the lowest forms of life living down to their potential. In the literal wake of the devastation in New Orleans, certain members of society have decided to take advantage of the situation and steal everything they can get their filthy hands on. At a Walgreen’s drug store in the French Quarter, people were running out with grocery baskets and coolers full of soft drinks, chips and diapers. When police finally showed up, a young boy stood in the door screaming, “86! 86!” — the radio code for police — and the crowd scattered. Denise Bollinger, a tourist from Philadelphia, stood outside and snapped pictures in amazement. “It’s downtown Baghdad,” the housewife said. “It’s insane....

Ozzy’s Easy-Bake Oven™

This is my second time attending the 13-hour series of concerts called Ozzfest. Each year, about 20 bands come to Dallas (and many other cities) and rip the crowd a new one. This year was no exception. traci and I took off on Thursday and Friday. Last year, we didn’t take the Friday off and were really hating ourselves when we had to go back to work the next day. Talk about a downer! So we planned ahead and were able to have both days off. We woke even earlier than we would have had to if we were going to work, as we had to drive across town and meet our friends for breakfast. We arrived at Smirnoff...

Two Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest

While I finish up my review of Ozzfest, here’s a nice little tidbit I saw today on Michelle Malkin’s blog. Speaks volumes about what’s really going on down in Crawford, doesn’t it?

Here’s a fun little animation (in the cutout style of JibJab) about Hillary running in 2008. Enjoy!

Asshat of the week

This contest has been in fierce contention all week, between Cindy Sheehan and Pat Robertson. But Robertson has pulled into the lead! Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson insisted Wednesday that he did not call for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, despite comments broadcast on his program two days earlier. “I didn’t say ‘assassination,’” Robertson said Wednesday on his Christian Broadcast Network show “The 700 Club” about remarks reported by The Associated Press and other media outlets. “I said our special forces should ‘take him out.’ ‘Take him out’ could be a number of things including kidnapping. “There are a number of ways of taking out a dictator from power besides killing him. I was misinterpreted by the AP,...

Who Would Jesus Assassinate?

Posted 23 Aug 2005 in religion, stupidity

Pat Robertson has gone over the edge. He actually is calling for the U.S. to kill Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. “We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability,” Robertson said Monday on the Christian Broadcast Network’s “The 700 Club.”  “We don’t need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator,” he continued. “It’s a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with.” “You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and...

Religion of Peace update

I wonder if these folks have spoken with Cindy Sheehan about a possible endorsement deal? An al-Qaeda linked-group has launched what it calls a media jihad, or holy war, to “terrorise” United States-led forces in Iraq and their families by bombarding them with e-mails and by posting gruesome photos online. The group, calling itself the “Brigade of Media Jihad”, called on its militants to “post terrifying pictures on the internet in order to terrorise the enemy”, said a statement on an Islamist website whose authenticity could not be verified. “Our objective is to undermine the morale of our enemies, dash their hopes and dreams and reveal the truth of what is happening in Iraq. The media war is an...

Reuters – Thu Aug 18, 3:26 AM ETA protestor is seen on the ground at a candlelight vigil in the north Hollywood area of Los Angeles, August 17, 2005. Anti-war protestors held candles, sang, and chanted in vigils across the country on Wednesday in support of Cindy Sheehan, who has camped out near President George W. Bush’s ranch to urge him to bring U.S. troops home from Iraq, where her son was killed a year ago. Sheehan has become a magnet for anti-war protesters who have crowded around her since her vigil began August 6 in Crawford, a community of 705 people, where Bush is on a month-long vacation. Does anyone really believe that the Palestinians (and Muslims in general) will be placated by Israel’s withdrawl from Gaza? That they will cease all the car bombs and suicide bombers now that Israel agreed to give back land that it won in the Six Day War 38 years ago? Will they decide not to eradicate all Jews from the face of the Earth now that they’ve agreed to give back some land? Is that really the Road Map to Peace? Should Israel have agreed to give that land back? Should the U.S. now give back the land we won from the British in the Revolutionary War? Should the U.S. now give back the land it took from the American...

Protesting the protest

Posted 17 Aug 2005 in Iraq, military, war

I was gonna blog about this today, but while heating my lunch I saw an opinion column written by Mark Davis which said it much better than I could have. Here’s the link, but since the column changes every few days, I’m gonna clip and paste the article. Protest the war if you must, but not at ‘Camp Casey’05:06 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 17, 2005Since my overall view of the Cindy Sheehan circus is that it has received an absurd amount of attention, one might fairly ask why I would add to it today. Two reasons: Her stunt, so energizing to her fans and infuriating to her critics, is instructive in a couple of ways; and, since she...
