More new ink
Finally got ahold of my artist after work yesterday and was able to book some more time under the needle. Things are tight right now, but I went ahead and took my maneki neko bank to a Coinstar machine and cashed in his guts. Hey, a year’s worth of change = 90 minutes of new ink. Not bad!
Casey picked out a buncha different colors and filled over a dozen caps with fresh ink. Then he started out on my chest. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of feeling tattoo needles on your chest, it’s definitely intense. And the first few minutes of any tattoo are always the worst as your body tries to produce endorphins to deal with the pain. So last night definitely started out a bit rough. But the chest portion is now colored in and done, as well as the feathers that run over my shoulder and down the inside of my arm. All that remains are a few feathers on the back of my shoulder. Then all I need is the black bars & clouds around the phoenix and this piece will be finished!!
